Other than the LU chancellor mentioning it at a casual luncheon for local government leaders and local universities everything has been usually quiet. The only time I've heard us mentioned lately was by the ODU AD in a ESPN radio interview. In the 9/20/2016 podcast at the 48:00 min mark Selig was high on Liberty. He talked about the possibly of a complete shake up for G5.

HawaiiMongoose,

Appreciate your post. It's very much in the spirit of "gung-ho! let's talk realignment!"

Here's where it fails, though: the NCAA will never allow that. Do you really, actually think the NCAA is going to allow a school -- particularly a toxic school like Liberty -- to basically say "he he he he, we found a loophole! we found a loophole! neener neener!! nothing you can doooooo!"

You gotta be a kidding me. They'd slap the little punks across the face. Then change the rules, to disallow such a move.

You know they would.

That's why this whole thing is such a joke. It's based on a literal interpretation of a rule that was never intended to allow such an interpretation. We're not talking about stone tablets, here.
And don't listen to anything NoDak says, when it comes to this specific topic.

Other topics, he's fine. Even informative, and has good viewpoints. He's just noxious on this one specific topic. Well, that and UND to the Summit/MVFC.

I'm not reporting anyone. Post whatever you want.
Looks like NoDak was a year off.

99% possibility: JFJ was simply misquoted or misspoke at the function. Or is outright lying. Neither would surprise me.

0% possibilities:
- Liberty moving up to FBS as independent (NCAA rules don't allow it)
- Liberty moving to WAC and the the WAC being allowed to restart FBS football (NCAA rules weren't intended to allow it and if the attempt were actually made -- which it never will be -- then they'd be quickly rewritten to make it more explicit).

Hoe. Lee. Fashizzle.

NoDak (RIP) called that a half-a-decade early.
