I was walking in my local library, looked at the cover of Time magazine and saw something hinting that there was an article that suggested technology could be racist:

http://time.com/4475627/is-technology-ca...ng-racist/

I haven't read it yet but stand back, I have some rope and some sharp objects and I may just do something. 03-banghead

And for those scoring at home in the background, I remind you I'm an African-American.
That word (racist) is so tossed around that the original meaning has gone to pot.

Thanks Libturds.
I know More African Americans that own all of the latest Cell phones, PC's, IPads, Personal Music players, TV's, Automobiles, SUVs, drones, so Technology definitely isn't racist. LOL
Symbols of wealth, like the latest greatest shoes or the big screen tv or the big SUVs parked outside the trailer.
Don't hang yourself. But that is one of the stupider articles I've wasted time reading lately, starting with:

We are told of late that we must entertain whether technology can be a racist.

Really? We are told? By whom? You'd flunk a JN101 assignment with a **** lede like that. This is what happens when media corporations cut costs by firing all the editors.
They keep all the editors but overwork them and fire/layoff the writers and it shows.

"I saw an article today with a provocative headline.

Did I actually read the article? Of course not.

But you all know that won't stop me from making something up!"

I can only conclude that you didn't read the article because people in the south can't actually read. 04-cheers

As usual, you'd be wrong.
Probably best that you hang yourself before Trump is elected and hangs all the liberal, Muslim Mexicans. Take control of your destiny before the purge.
I think technology is racist. Took me forever to learn how to subnet.

I did skim over it though and the point seemed to be that certain algorithms (am I using that right?) and searches led to certain word associations and in turn those word associations were supposedly tied to racism... which can only mean there are racist programmers out there, not that the technology itself is racist. To suggest technology is racist is absurd... either that or Skynet is becoming self-aware and I need to find Arnold Schwarzenegger for protection. The machines are coming!
It was a provocative headline, sure.
If band aids can be racists, then so can technology.

I feel for you... Crazy times. Every time I talk politics with someone born in another country (and I'm around a lot of such folks), I feel like apologizing about how bad the politics here are, but usually I can look at their country of origin and honestly say that politics there are at least as bad, if not worse.
