The LT Governor of Texas was not just being a typical Texas homer advocating for Houston and SMU, but was specifically calling out the Oklahoma schools and insulting the Big 12.
Wow. Reading the transcript was in no way an accurate representation of this idiot's disrespect to the Big 12, UConn and Florida schools applying to the conference.
Starting to think there might actually be some truth to the rebirth of another SWC rebirth rumor. I just wonder if it could be done given the current GOR.

Well, if OU, OSU, KU, KSU, ISU, and WVU all found homes in other P5 conferences why not? At that point I'm sure Texas, Baylor, T.C.U. & Tech would be happy. Let them add Rice, SMU, Houston, Tulane, Tulsa, Coloraod State, and B.Y.U. and call it a day. Heck if the SEC just added OU, OSU, KU, and WVU it could get done. Too bad we don't need all of them huh?

Let's revive the Old Big 8 while we are at it. I would bet OK/OSU/KU/KSU/Iowa State would love to grab Colorado State. Then you just need a Nebraska and Mizzou replacement.

Northern Division: BYU, Colorado St, Tulane, Kansas State, Iowa State, Rice
Oklahoma & Oklahoma State to the SEC.
Kansas & UCONN to the B1G.
WV & Cincinnati to the ACC.
That takes care of all 10 B12 schools. If the B1G & ACC don't expand then you still place enough to dissolve the B12. Kansas & WV could join the AAC or # 13 & 14 in the new SWC. Rice goes to the Texas Division & they go to the Northern. Texas plays 5-6 Texas teams in conference every year & has room for Oklahoma on the schedule. They keep the LHN as well.
I've thought for a while that if UT wanted to maximize the LHN and ESPN was willing to go along with it, then a new SWC would do it.
Move Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas, and Iowa State to the SEC
Move West Virginia and Cincinnati to the ACC
Then Texas can reform their SWC:
Texas, Texas Tech, TCU, Baylor, SMU, Houston, BYU, and Kansas State
Their league can play a small number of league games and have plenty of opportunities to play major opponents out of conference.
ESPN would own the SEC, ACC, and probably all of the new SWC(whatever it ends up being called) after all the shakeups.

Not too bad. I'm gonna go with an unrealistic expansion option. This one is designed to inject some major life into SEC basketball.
Texas agrees to split up the B12 into a new SWC with TV's inputs; contiginous markets and decent brands. So SWC 2.0 keeps its current foot print and adds some more Texas schools and some western schools.
The SEC adds four schools; two AAU's, one football blue blood, two basketball blue bloods, and an overall solid athletic program in OU, KU, WVU, and UConn.
Not gonna happen, but from a brand and footprint/cable subscription standpoint from realistically available schools, that would seem like a money maker, improve academics overall, and vastly improve the basketball product.

A revived SWC would revert back to keep what you kill as no network would pay for equal distribution with those teams

I think ESPN would support a new SWC 2.0
And I also think the Big XII survivors would reload from a pool of teams from the Mountain West and American
