WMU- i wish i could find my posts on the belt board guaranteing 3-0 before GoSo
Toledo- has been flat out dominating inferior opponents. It looks like the Defense from a year ago is back, and so is the deep ball!
CMU- looking fantastic. Is this is the year CMU jumps out in front of the West?

Akron- nice ass whooping of the Herd!
OU- hung in there against UT. I'm feeling a great East matchup between these two teams.

Ball State- what do you know!? The Cards may go bowing!
NIU- has played some good teams...
EMU- offense offense offense

BG
MIAMI
KENT
UB
I'm going to keep teams in record pods because I like symmetry-

1. WMU (3-0)
2. CMU (3-0)
3. Toledo (3-0)

4. Akron (2-1)
5. Ball St (2-1)
6. EMU (2-1)

7. Ohio (1-2)
8. BGSU (1-2)
9. Kent St (1-2)

10. NIU (0-3)
11. Miami (0-3)
12. Buffalo (0-2)
Just curious and I am not arguing, but why is Buffalo 12 and Miami 11 when Miami has lost one more game then UB and they have lost two home games already? Both teams lost to an FCS and yes UB lost last night, but going cross country to play a game is not an easy task for any team.
1. WMU

4. Ohio
4. Akron

7. BGSU
7. NIU

9. EMU
9. Miami-OH

11. Kent St
11. Buffalo

Gotta go with this too until some separation emerges
Why would you have Miami ahead of KSU? Both have horrible losses to FCS but KSU at least has shown they can win a game. KSU should at least be ahead of Miami and UB.

We're #10! We're #10!

The sad part is we have absolutely sucked so bad that if feels like we should be at the bottom. Outside of EMU, the rest of the West division is going to annihilate us and I wouldn't be surprised if we lost to EMU.
Miami-OH actually played a good game last night. Solidly beat the spread -- could have won if executed better.

If you guys don't get at least 1 win in your next 4 games 10/22 is setting up to be the Pillow Fight of the Week.
Yea... This is the year Toledo beats NIU. We could lose to some other teams for a change but i can't see the Huskies being inside of double digit underdogs.

Eh, I'm telling myself that, but we had a lot of luck to even get that close. It was pouring for most of the first half, hence why nothing really happened the first quarter or so. Our two late touchdowns were freak tipped receptions that you don't see very often period, let alone for the same team in the same quarter. Without the delay I think we lose by more than two touchdowns. But then again, I think with nice weather last week we beat EIU.
I'm hoping next Saturday is when Graham gets his feet under him and gets comfortable. Hopefully. Otherwise it will be an even longer year than it's been so far.
Tier 1: WMU, CMU, Toledo. Again, put them in any order you want for now. All three continue to impress.

Tier 2: Ohio, Akron. Ohio stays here after hanging tough with the Vols. I elevate Akron after the impressive win at Marshall.

Tier 3: Ball State. Holding steady after easily handling an FCS foe.

Tier 4: EMU. Relatively similar profile to BSU (an FCS win, a G5 win, and a P5 loss). Only differences: BSU didn't get rolled by their mediocre-at-best P5 foe, and GSU is a better G5 win than Charlotte.

Tier 5: BG, NIU. Both looked a little better at times Saturday, but there's a long way to go.

Tier 6: KSU, Miami, Buffalo. Not going to elevate KSU simply for not losing this time to an FCS foe. Need to see more from all three in order to escape the bottom tier.

They both lost to FCS teams by more than a FG and Miami's loss at Iowa is what I would expect if Buffalo played them too. So in regards to their G5 losses this week, and taking into acct Miami played at home and Buffalo traveled to the West coast, I thought was more competitive in their loss vs a slightly better opponent, losing by 7pts, compared to 24pts by Buffalo.

Fair enough... it's almost hoops season!

****Once again I had a tough time ranking CMU, WMU, and UT. I went with WMU #1 because I feel the now-2 Big 10 wins are worth more then CMU's win over UNLV. That could change if CMU beats Virginia and WMU loses to GA Southern this week.

****I feel like Ohio is too low, but they should rise as the season continues. Akron seems like the team to beat in the East.

****NIU. . . . . . . . .what happened?????

****As an NCHC fan, I really wish Miami would get things turned around.
Just a quick thought/question:

When has the MAC West been this strong?

WMU/TOL/CMU are having very nice seasons. EMU has played better than a bottom feeder.

BSU (like EMU) hard to judge because of the quality of their schedule. NIU will bounce back.

Assuming NIU bounces back, we do not have a real bad team in the MAC West.

NOTE: for MAC fans wondering about EMU. The last time EMU started 3 - 1 (requires a win over Wyoming Friday) was 1995. EMU started 4 - 1 after finishing the 1994 season on a 5 - 1 note (source: page 167 of the EMU FB media guide). EMU looked to be on a roll after the 1994 season but coach Ron Cooper, after two seasons, went to Louisville.

We started strong in 1995 but the program went down hill and has struggled since.
I believe the MAC has had two top 25 teams ranked a few times but never 3 top 25 teams at once. This could be the year.
From another poster on MHT - We are winning the box score but haven't won a game yet.

An interesting stat [for an 0-3 team].

Our offense has outgained our opponents in each of the first 3 games.

MU 424 Iowa 404
MU 402 EIU 316
MU 424 WKU 404 (the exact same yardages for both teams as Iowa?)

First downs by game for MU 25, 22, 23
First downs by opponents 17, 22, 19
