.....but since we are now in the national category we are ranked rank not published. It's a positive thing for sure just sucks we have no posted number rank. Also we have a endowment of $1,054,285,564.

Just keep in mind there are only 310 schools in the national category. The number ranks stop after 220 or so. The rest of that 310 are rank not published schools. So being lumped into a category with 310 slots is pretty good considering the massive number of total colleges in the US.
This is great news for Liberty! I have been hoping that Liberty would have their ranking improved and they are making strides in that department. That is one thing we can control when it comes to conference realignment. Just need to continue making improvements and hopefully climb out of the unranked.
Yes, this is good news. We are headed in the right direction. Hopefully in a decade or so we will be on the ranked list.... if not sooner.

I think this shows Liberty's commitment to excellence.

I'm not sure if you just used the wrong word or don't understand how the rankings work. So I'm going to clarify just so anyone reading this doesn't get the wrong idea. LU is ranked it's just not published. The rank would be somewhere between 220'ish and 310. There is a rank of unranked but that's not what LU is.
Thanks, I knew we were ranked. I just didn't mean with a # beside our name yet that's published. Because, you know, people on message boards like this will always take shots at us because we don't have a low enough number beside our name.

I just wanted to clarify just in case those same people start saying we are unranked.
Is there a stated goal as far as ranking by the LU administration? I know they want to climb as high as possible, but I didn't know if an actual goal/time line was set. I would assume we'd want to be equal to some of our peer (or perceived) institutions, with private or religious backgrounds.

#8 Duke . . . . . . . . . . . (founded by Methodists, not Christian anymore)

#56 SMU . . . . . . . . . . .(see #8)
#66 Yeshiva . . . . . . . . .(Jewish)
#67 BYU . . . . . . . . . . . (LDS)
#71 Baylor . . . . . . . . . .(don't know how Baptist it is anymore)
#74 Va. Tech . . . . . . . . .(neighbor)
#82 TCU . . . . . . . . . . . .(at least has the term "Christian" in it's name)
#86 Tulsa . . . . . . . . . . .(Presbyterian, once upon a time)
#159 Seattle Pacific . . . .(Free Methodist)
#164 Biola . . . . . . . . . . (non-denominational)
#164 VCU . . . . . . . . . . .(distant neighbor)
#169 Union University . . (very comparable to Liberty)
#176 Lipscomb . . . . . . . (Church of Christ)
#183 Azusa Pacific . . . . .(Wesleyan Holiness evangelical)
#210 ODU . . . . . . . . . . .(distant neighbor)

#220 GW . . . . . . . . . . . .(BSC peer)
Maybe I missed them, but didn't see JMU on the list anywhere.

JMU is regionally ranked. I would settle for any number above RNP.
I'd like to be at least #168. When I visited Union University with my daughter they really thumbed their nose at Liberty and didn't have much to say in a kind way about us. They had a very low opinion of our academic reputation.
