Yep, part of the California State University system.
Didnt we beat them a few years ago, i heard one of the local outlets say we lost in OT.
Lots of good info in this article--as usual! I do wonder if we will see a QB change for Fresno State at all during the game.
I'm shocked we're +20 favorites. Either we're that good or Fresno isn't anywhere close to the Fresno of the Pat Hill days

We never have beaten them. 0-3 all-time.
I was there... damn I'm getting old. I guess I remember it was exciting. Hard to believe we are up 22. They had a good program with Hill there. They would beat PAC whatever consistently.

I'm thinking some of both . . . but 20 points- that surprised me too.
Fresno did not give Nebraska much of a game, but I too was surprised to see UT is a 20+ point favorite. Maybe we are actually starting to get some of that respect everyone is craving.

Yeah, I am not buying the 20 pt spread. The previous two times we played then I thought we were more even. We got blasted once and played them close at home. Don't want this as a trap game overlooking them for BYU.

1 point win would be fine with me. Neither StAte nor Maine were really able to test us for much of a game so I'm thinking this may be our first true challenge of the season and we may experience a bit of adversity during that 60 minutes as a result.
But I'll also take a 20 point win.

Thanks for the post. When they lined up for the 2 point try, I thought was the right call, win or lose and I still feel that way---a tough loss regardless----back then Fresno State was being heralded as "The Next Boise State" and they usually backed up their "anybody, anywhere, any time" bravado with wins.
We were -3 at Arkansas St.......so maybe Vegas can really blow it from time to time. Hope we are 20 points better!! Go Rockets!!

My recollection is that Fresno State was the first mid-major to break out and command nation attention and respect. Boise State followed suite and has maintained that status.

Well, the Rockets defense was hit hard, very hard with the departure of eight starters! The coach George hiring and the "second ranked recruiting classes" were non-factors, I guess.
