Major announcement regarding future membership set for tomorrow. No details given.
Interesting...

Campbell going full schollie and moving from Pioneer League?

DII move-up (West Georgia, North Alabama)?

A MEAC School wanting to get back to a playoff conference?
Interesting. The Atlantic Sun tweeted earlier they had a major announcement tomorrow as well

Wichita State Football only, on a three year agreement.

At that point, transition to MWC or AAC.
Maybe they'll just merge the two leagues.

A-Sun doesn't sponsor football
Maybe they will realign some members. NJ IT is a slightly better fit geographical in the Big South. But that isn't football related. Who knows. May be interesting if they can get together and agree on some moves that make sense though. Several other conferences could do the same.
There have been talks that some D2 schools on the east coast talking about upgrading to D1.

Columbus State
North Alabama
West Georgia
Valdosta State
Indiana, Pa.
Long Island Post
Bellarmine
Belmont Abbey
West Florida

West Florida is having sellouts for their home games in their first season already. That could speed up their time line to build an on campus stadium.
Maybe West Florida to the ASUN with football in the Big South?
I highly doubt that the Big South is making an announcement for just a DII moveup, primarily because a DII moveup doesn't help them keep their autobid to the FCS playoffs for six years. With Monmouth a far-flung affiliate for football only and Liberty openly courting anybody who will take them in FBS they have to ensure they have enough members to sustain any possible losses and a DII moveup doesn't do that soon enough for comfort.

IMHO they are going to announce Campbell and/or the Florida Pioneer League schools joining in football.
Would Jacksonville be interested/able?

This is what I am thinking.

Lets not forget Stetson in the Pioneer League as well. That would leave them on an island by themselves on the southeast coast.

Pretty sure when I said Florida Pioneer League schools I was including Stetson since they are both in Florida and in the Pioneer League. In fact if I had forgot about them I would have just said Jacksonville as they and Stetson are the only two Florida schools in the Pioneer.
Anyone finding anything on any ASun or BS school athletic pages about an announcement tomorrow?

So far, nothing here. Campbell, Jacksonville, Stetson...

Did this one slip by us? Maybe it's FGCU? Nothing on their site, either.

I thought maybe, just maybe Delaware State grew a pair and decided it was time to move on. Nothing there, either.

Is the arrangement with UWF and Blue Wahoos Stadium enough for FCS operations?

Seems like a merger with some discussion about scholarship limits for football, allowing for a few of the Pioneer schools to move on over with as minimal a commitment as possible. Heck, that would be the most logical, seeing as Liberty keeps knocking on the door of FBS, and Monmouth is waiting for whoever leaves CAAF to take their place.
A merger would lose an automatic basketball bid, so I don't see that as likely.
Dropping to no/NEC-level scholarships to allow Southern Pioneer programs to be competitive in the Big South?
If they go no or NEC level scholarships, you might see Kennesaw State leave for a better conference. Would Southern Conference invite them? Kennesaw State and Mercer as a pair.
Right. Doubt the ASun and Big South merge non-football leagues.

I'll throw my guess in for Jacksonville moving to scholarship football. IIRC, they had a really nice season in the Pioneer not long ago that was vacated by the league for improper aid.

(for those who don't know -- the Pioneer is a FCS conference in name only, and exists solely for the sake of the schools that used to play DIII football while being DI in everything else, but were then banned from doing so because of Dayton's success in DIII football ... thus, they run the league like a DIII football conference with very strict rules against football scholarships)

But who would add scholarships just to go to the Big South? I mean, even presuming that there's a bigger goal on the horizon, that's a nice-sized chunk of change (between football scholarships and Title IX offsets) for the sake of playing Gardner-Webb and Monmouth every year.
