OkSt should not host Non Conference games if Big 12 officials cannot be used.

what a loser!
Hey Mike Big 12 officials were used in the booth and still failed to overturn the call on the field. The arrogance of the PEEEE 5 ceases to amaze me03-puke
He isn't wrong.

The MAC squad blew the call, even if I think they called it the way the rule should be written.

Big 12 refs obviously did not know the rule either or else they would have overturned it from the booth!
I have to agree the whining is annoying. Historically speaking, there are more examples of P5 schools* receiving beneficial officiating in OOC games to G5 schools* in close games.

* You can substitute P5 for BCS, Bowl Alliance or whatever term you want to use depending on era.
He's a man guys, he's (now over) 40!

Looking for some cheese to go with my whine

Hey asshat. If your team was prepared from the get go, it wouldn't have come down to this...

Hell ECU lost a game against Alabama in the 90's because they were allowed 5 downs. It's laughably silly that a P5 coach would ever think officials are "out to get" a P5 team at home against a G5 team. That couldn't be more the opposite of the truth.

That is really weak. It is a flipping home game. The way it normally works is the visiting team's conference refs do the game and the replay booth is usually the home conference.

He's wrong. Mistakes get made within games all the time. And you cannot argue that this mistake is particularly egregious, because it's no different than a botch PI call, bad ruling on a fumble, etc. The root of the problem is that Gundy's team should not have been affected by a blown call at all. They should have won comfortably - at least on paper.
Gundy said he doesn't want to "disrespect" officiating crews that don't operate in Power 5 conferences, but after Saturday's outcome, he said he won't use them in Stillwater again.

"The best ones will be at [the Power 5] level," he said. "When we're playing in these games, we need to use our officials. Or we don't sign a contract."

He doesn't want to disrespect officiating crews that operate in Power 5 conferences? He just did.

"The best ones will be at [the Power 5] level," he said.

This P5 nonsense is very annoying. Now even the officials are better.
Mike Gundy just needs to shut up about it at this point. The MAC crew missed it, the Big 12 crew in the booth missed it, and the Ok St coaches missed it. It was obviously a bad call by the letter of the rule, but the screw up isn't totally on the MAC. It was a group effort. Besides, if Gundy hadn't **** the bed with a stupid play call this doesn't happen. Oh, and that P5 defense turned around and gave up a desperation hail mary. Gundy just sounds whiny.
Big 12 officials more fair. More fair to some schools than others. No wonder he wants them

I understand now lol
B12 overturned our onside kick against Texas in 2007. Apologized the next day.

Get over it Gundy.

While unfortunate, the professional answer would be, "We allowed ourselves to be put in a position to lose in a controversial way. If we play our game to the level we are capable of playing, we are not in that position and this whole situation/conversation is moot."

It stinks, it's controversial, it's unfair, etc. Move on and worry about what you can control (which isn't the referees).
Gundy should make sure his team doesn't let a MAC school hang around until the last play of the game.
In fairness to Gundy, I found the officiating to be awful across the board. I can cite numerous examples of less than stellar calls by AAC officials and I am sure MAC, Sunbelt and C-USA refs stink too.

There needs to be some reform, but I find his call for P5 only refs for OOC games to be ridiculous.

Missing calls is one thing. Not knowing the rules is really unacceptable.

Yeah sure. That one happens all the time. Like playing with a parakeet hiding in your helmet
