No big surprise but WMU, Toledo and even CMU look good.

MAC East looks bad as does NIU. Ohio the only decent team in the MAC East?

I'm one who believes that WMU might win 10 of 12 regular season games.

I was shocked at some of the MAC East losses which would have upset me if EMU had lost those games.

When it comes to MAC football the West is the best.
EMU's chances based on the scores after 2 weeks...

Win not likely: WMU and UT
Win not likely but you never know: Ohio and CMU (maybe bring Genyk back as a guest coach for that one)
Should be a good game: Charlotte, BSU, Wyo, Miami, BG, NIU (it appears that the mighty have fallen).

So...CMU and Ohio go into P5 stadiums, take the money AND WIN (what a concept), yet Eastern has a chance to beat them? I'm guessing CMU and Ohio aren't too scared of EMU.

I said "win not likely". EMU played CMU tough last year and it's the last game of the season. And there's something about Ohio that makes them seem mortal. Kansas is bad.
Dear Friends,
My take on this discussion, is this: Was the win by Western vs. Northwestern really great? In my opinion, no. Did they beat a Big Ten team, yes, but it was a very lucky win. Northwestern then loses to Illinois State. As we know a FCS team. My point. So how good is Western? Time will tell. Same thing with Central. They can claim great win, but it came from a blown call of the rules. In my opinion total luck. Because Central was able to hang with Oklahoma State, how good is Oklahoma State? Could be one of the over-rated teams in college football this year.
We are going to have to watch a few more games to maybe see how good or bad any team may be.

Kansas is "bad" but if Eastern beat em, we'd all be ecstatic and party into the morning. Mizzou isn't much better than Kansas, they're pretty bad too.
Plus, Ohio didn't just beat Kansas, they dominated them. They were up 25-0 at one point.
Dear Bob,
Yes we would be happy because it was a win. The difference would be looking at the competition and how good or bad they were. Our victory over Mississippi Valley State was a win, and everyone was happy about it, but we all know what the competition was...not very good.

Dude! Your posts get my eyes rolling every time. Oklahoma State is way better than Missouri. Northwestern is better than Missouri. Missouri is a 3-4 win team with a new, unproven coach. Oklahoma State would have killed EMU! Come on give winners their due. EMU has never beaten a P5 team in their entire history of playing football! By your standards, they haven't accomplished one worthwhile thing in their existence! Laughable.
Dear Bob,
How do you know how good any team will be after two games? How do you know Oklahoma State is better than Missouri? Northwestern better than Missouri? You don't think Western's and Central's games were not lucky the way they ended? Yes both schools were in the fight, but in the end it was luck.

I watched the entire CMU-Oklahoma State game. There was nothing fluky, CMU was every bit as physical as OSU. If CMU did a better job protecting the football, it would have never come down to the last 2 plays. In my opinion, they looked like the better team and Oklahoma State is a damn good team.

It amazes me that you would get "picky" about how good a particular P-5 team is whenever another team beats them, yet when it comes to Eastern getting beat down by 40 to a P-5 team, you choose to turn your nose up at the style of how other MAC teams defeat power conference teams! Unreal! Do you stop to look at how absurd your comments are regarding this?
Dear Bob,
The term is not "picky", it's "lucky", something you fail to admit. If, you chose to praise Central's win as great. That's your opinion.
I have a right to see it differently. I believe I was giving facts, especially how good Northwestern may be. They are 0-2 now, and from what I have seen of them, it could be a long year. I have also stated that the season is only two games into, and we will have to wait and see how any team moves on from here.
Your willingness to praise a team that won a game on sheer luck, astounds me.

I want you to be a man and answer this question then. Since Central's win over Oklahoma State and WMU's win over Northwestern were "lucky" and not great wins. Name me ONE great win EMU has had that was better than those 2 wins.

Don't dodge the question. Answer it for me. I'll wait for your response.
Dear Bob,
The California Bowl win over San Jose State. We were the underdogs and outplayed San Jose for the win.

You literally went back 30 years to name a victory over a small conference team, not a P5 team. I think I made my point. Ken, you can't be taken seriously as a fan if you cannot be objective.

You're a great fan Ken, and your point was well taken. Still too early, but the early MAC predictions seem fairly accurate. On a good note for EMU, NIU and BGSU may not be quite as good as they have been in the past.
