NIU Has Plenty of Playmakers

NIU’s Drew Hare had himself a day against Wyoming, going 24-for-39 for 329 yards and three touchdowns.

Ten of those passes went to USF’s version of Rodney Adams - Kenny Golladay - who finished with 144 receiving yards and two touchdown catches along with 82 rushing yards and another score.

“He can catch one of those jet sweeps and go the distance,” Taggart said.

NIU’s offense also features senior Joel Bouagnon (6-2, 228), who rushed for 1,285 yards and 18 touchdowns last season. Several other playmakers helped the Huskies total 462 yards last week.

“They’ve got weapons everywhere,” Woodie said.

NIU’s offense looks a lot like Memphis with the way both teams like to use motion before snaps and surprise opponents in many different ways.

“You have to be really disciplined with your eyes to play and defeat a team like them,” Woodie said.

From an outsiders perspective......Hare looks like he had a great game. That stat line is pretty good. Also we do have a lot of weapons, they just need to use them and execute.
If you remember last season, in Week 1, the Huskies had to overcome a two touchdown deficit against a horrible UNLV team, whom they were favored to beat by 21.5. Then Murrray State was just a cupcake, but in Week 3, the Huskies gave Ohio State all they could handle.

So, like last year, this team could be much better that they looked in Week 1. Too bad the Week 1 team returned for the post season.

I know stat line was good but Hare looked so uncomfortable out there
Sure looked like Wyoming was making sure we couldn't run the ball and would take their chances with us throwing it. Which would make it easier for Hare to throw for 300 yards.

Good post, puts things in perspective. People are ready to write the season off and downgrade to FCS because of one loss.

Let's see if the Huskies can put on a show at USF. I'll be there.
