You do realize that the decisions as to what to include in the mathematical model and how the variables are treated is subjective. It just changes where the subjectivity is
See the combined Massey Ratings to see what I mean. If it were totally objective, all of the computer-based rankings would be the same. They are not.

I stopped reading after I saw Bowling Green ahead of Ohio State after losing to them by 67.

It also removes subjectivity if you rank teams in the order you draw their names out of a hat. That appears to be what happened here.

Re-ranking teams at the beginning of every season is stupid. Start with the final rankings from last year. The rankings should be based upon performance on the field, period.

These rankings don't include any of last weeks' results. Maybe they'll make more sense once those are included because right now they're hot garbage.

This is a good one as well. I like how if a good team loses to a another good team they dont drop them like a rock. If #5 loses to #1 it is ok to to leave them at #5 or even move a team up if they gave a top five team a battle and they were ranked way lower. If an unranked comes in undefeated and gives AL a four qtr battle I would have no problem putting them top ten even in a loss. Yet the coaches and AP voters drops a team 20 spots or leaves them unranked just based on the loss alone. Also just because a team was not included in the pre season worthless rankings does not mean they are not good or if they were they are not hot garbage this year. Vegas and computers dont care about ego, labels and ratings they care about getting it right.
