...right about now would be a good time to say it instead of clamming up when everything they've been very publically working towards the last 2-3 years just apparently went up in smoke.
If they're bound by an NDA (and consequently/more importantly, so is the B12), then they'll remain silent.

If we're not getting into a big conference with a actual chance at a championship, then i don't care what they have to say.
We have zero chance at a national title in any conference we are in.

If Memphis makes a statement, it will be once they get clarity re: nondisclosure agreement. But deed is done.

Other schools talked.

Exactly, why would you even sign something like that.. Fans want and need to know.. In fact they could lose some big people over this.. This is just all stupidity at it's finest..

You sign it as it is a condition to play. UofM has no leverage over the Big 12, so if they say sign, you sign.

BUT we coulda finally got in the black for football. That was the exciting thing to me. To actually turn a profit and go to a good bowl game instead of one in a baseball stadium or a relic from the 1950s (legion field)

Both sides would be beyond stupid to not demand an NDA.

Fans don't need to do a damn thing except by tickets and show up to games.

They ain't losing anyone. People with money (the ones that matter), are well aware of how all of this stuff works.
Well, that was a whole lot of words to say, 'we have nothing to say'.

Would have been nice to see something along the lines of, 'we have been and will continue to pursue inclusion into a Power 5 Conference" maybe hinting that there is another opportunity.

That release sounds like the one given by the losing coach.
--I just can't go the total doom and gloom route. It's basically the opposite of that other one a lot of people were on...

Comeon....people. There's gotta be something shiny in the cloud lining. lol.

I'm not trying to be an ass, btw. It's really how I look at it.

Well, we are the losing team apparently, so the tone is correct.

I got no problem with the statement, but the Big 12 can piss off. Not even that we don't get in (defensible), but how public and stupid this process is.

If it was UC/UH/BYU/UCF, we dust ourselves off, respect the chosen and move on.

But this prolonged process is crap. Other conferences move quickly and confidently. This is bunk.

Good for you. We need more of it.
I know the hardcore kool aid guys will try to tell you different, but the program just can't be as successful as we want it to be without being on the inside track of college athletics. I could care less about a bowl game in birmingham or a meaningless bowl game 1000 miles away against a moron school. Coaches will continue to move on if successful. Recruiting will remain behind the big conference schools. Attendance will continue to be something we will have to work hard at. The money returned back to schools in tv contract, etc will probably get bigger which means we fall further behind.

In basketball terms, having a bowl game is like memphis and louisville playing an extra meaningless game since they were left out of the ncaa tourney.

I disagree. Last year gives hope to that endeavor.

What Sundance said. We weren't holding the cards, here, but consequently, the B12 keeps their mouth shut, too.

Houston had one of the top two or three seasons in their storied history and they didn't even SNIFF a playoff spot (despite what pundits said).

There are less than 10 teams that 99.9999% of the time have a chance at a national title.

Even among the Power 5.

It would take a complete and total meltdown for anyone other than those ten schools to have a real shot.

In fact, we have just as good of a chance in the AAC of making the playoff as we would in the B12.

Maybe they dont care or didnt risk as much to worry about what the B12 would say, or what's down the road (if anything, not saying anything is down the road).
