Bryson White (WR) and Ron George (LB) allegedly entered a female student's dorm and robbed her at gunpoint.

I'll just leave this here, without comment...

How hard is it to not be, allegedly, a ******* *******?
Row the boat?
I read the WMU thread:

Yes, a bad, bad thing to do.

Both are new recruits. One was a walk-on.
I like ObscureSimpsons comment:

Hopefully these kids’ lives won’t be ruined, and if convicted they’ll be eligible for Kalamazoo County’s special “Row The Boat” work-release program.
Will those players have to walk the plank?
Row well and live-Ben Hur
HM row row the boat gently down the river?
Toledo got lucky:

"George is a freshman from Pittsburgh and one of the prized recruits from the 2016 class. The 6-foot, 204-pound George was initially committed to Toledo before switching to the Broncos just before signing day.?

Friends, there's a time and place to poke fun with Row The Boat. This ain't it.

I agree. No joy when these problems occur within the MAC family of schools...
And, of course, there are plenty of problems to go around:

After the two boys were dismissed from the program, Fleck pointed blame at himself for not doing a good enough background check on the kids during the recruiting process.

"We talk about failing is growing in our program, and that goes along with me, too. I told my team that, as well. If you quit, you're a failure. The one thing about us is that we will never quit. We don't elect to be around quitters. We're going to continue to grow higher."

Maybe you should remind some of WMU posters of that thought although this incident has seemed to humbled them along with the m live report on athletic subsidies.

I'm not sure bout Fleck's statement.

Did he FAIL to do his homework on these kids? The term is 'due diligence'.

Either he did or did not. If they had clean records, etc. then he has nothing to apologize.

If they had red flags, then he took a chance and got burned...

Would think he knew exactly what he was getting. The guy seems to be in total control of every single detail of that program. He was playing the probabilities, hoping he would be able to convert some of his borderline guys, and he ended up getting burned.

Is he truly sorry, and will this change his recruiting tactics/process? Or is he just saying all the right things, because he is basically forced to, because he got caught? I think the rash of recent decommits, as well as this public mess, has probably instigated a meeting, or at least a conference call with the AD, WMU admin/board, etc. "We love you PJ, but let's tone it down a little, you're making us look bad here."

Only time will tell.
One was a walk-on, not hardly the type of recruit one moves heaven and earth to get.

I'll check on the other recruit.

EDIT: The other recruit, Ron George, was a 2-star recruit.

The notion that Fleck took two talented recruits who had questionable background doesn't hold water.

If a coach is going to reach, it would be for a 3 or 4 star recruit.
Maybe they were recruiting backups for some of the decommits?

At any rate, since this isnt a James Still or Dave Bliss situation PJ gets a pass until it happens again.

I think the scholarship player, Ron George, committed 1/26.

Does indeed sound like a late verbal.

Apparently it took a local TV station exactly one hour to find out about White. Arrested in March and awaiting trial in September, but is in camp? Kid did a pretty good job keeping that incident under wraps from the coaching staff.

Of course its not like we've never had any due diligence problems with players (insert whistle by the graveyard here).
