Toolame before a decision is made. WTF? Toolame?

Are our corches telling local kids that we own Toolame like Bama owns MSucks? Do they tell 'em when we do play them again (at their Tinker Toy Stadium in N'Awlins) in front of 17k, that 12K will be USM fans? First Huderson commits to Toolame, and now Woullard acts as if a offer from them is da bomb! Jeeeeeez...

Oh yeah...the kid from Natchez is deciding tomorrow....he sez he wants to play "both ways" (yeah right) in college, and Toolame sez he can do just that with the Greenwave.
So, I'd say it's a great chance he will go there....

I never get too excited about a high schoolers' choice of college in August, since they almost always de-commit...BUT...why are we letting Toolame come into our territory, getting our kids real excited-like about their program, and making us like it?

Never never never (did I say "never" 04-cheers) happened before..
Tulane is going to a spread option formation with Fritz. Running backs like that.
I could care less, until they sign.

Uhh...we had two (2) 1,000 yard rushers last year...

I don't care IF Fritz brings in the Steel Curtain from Pittsburgh..IT's TOOLAME sniffing around in OUR friggin' recruiting area...Toolame!!!!

Beers...I normally agree with that...but for the last 40 years it's been USM raiding N'Awlins, not Toolame raiding the H'burg area..

No sleep lost actually, just thought I wold note a disturbing recruitin' pattern...04-cheers

the only thing that cusa lost when they left was southern miss lost their every other year 7th home game...
If you put any stock into these "verbals," you're simply setting yourself up for disappointment. They don't mean a damn thing.
While I agree that some people get too excited over certain commitments, saying that commitments "don't mean a thing" or "usually don't last" is just false. The fact is and has always been, most recruits stick with their commitments. Are commitments iron clad ? Nope. But they are worth something. If a recruit commits to your school, chances are good that he'll sign.

that's a fair statement....until one remembers Monk's first signing year...

so, to extrapolate....the continuance of doing the 'trite' thingy can bite ya in the arse....or, let the right thingy play out and continue to promote what made southern miss 'pseudo iconic'

the previous hierarchy had completely left the building how we got to that level.....and watching things like this, and what Doc is doing???..........well, it just makes me smile in good way...

Extrapolate? Extrapolate? I gradumicated B.S. (Bull hockey) from Miss'ippi Southern, so ya gotta quit using them big words..04-cheers

I didn't mean to get anyone's panties in a wad....just making an observation...and I understand a commitment this early is about as useless as a f*rt in the wind (did I extrapolate correctly?04-rock)
This just in folks: "Natchez Cathedrals' Will Wallace to Toolame"....Just call me "Nostra-friggin'-damus" from now on!

(Maybe he didn't understand what they meant by him "going both ways"...04-cheers )

Very disturbing pattern...BUT...ALL IS WEEEEEELLLLLLLL!03-banghead
Recruit signs with your team = "He's the next WalterJerryRiceBarrySandersBrettFavreReggieWhitePayton !"

Same recruit signs elsewhere = "He sucks. We didn't want him anway."
Willie Fritz and Tulane are going to be thorns in our sides until he leaves there. They made a good hire.

woooooooosh kudos and 04-cheers

I got ya...however, I cringe at star valuation just thinking about our last two gridiron 'elitists'....yeah, that would be battery boy and broken leg locker room destroyers....Deandre could've have been special...his frosh year was a sight to behold....unfortunately, he couldn't overcome the injury and never worked hard enough to recover the glory....battery boy was fail from the get go....there's your last two 'studs' in stars at southern miss....

I have always felt the strength of recruiting at southern miss is about the 2/3 stars working as hard as possible to become the 5 star athlete....more recently, toss in the juco route that so many unnecessarily despise, and this fan looks at this team like so many back in the day....what a nice blend of talent we now have....it's one helluva accomplishment in my eyes after '12.....

and what Doc is doing/saying is simply spot on as well....

the right moves are being made after all the shite that has happened in the last handful of years in both sports coupled with the admin/booster cf....not many were positive after '12....toss in that fat tub o' goo hoops disaster and it made even the most die hard fan want to shed tears...

so, if we lose one to wholane based on prima donna attitude, so be it....it happens everywhere to every school....I would easily take our chances straight up with them if a recruit fits the platform within our current coaching schema....

hell, if one looks at the 4/5 star busts at the upper echelon schools, it becomes easy to let stuff like this go....

southern miss' best move is to continue to hunt down the ones that other schools overlook or are unwilling to offer that works within our modicum....it's tried and true.....the talent can always be developed/enhanced with the right people at the top....

that's what we're getting ready to discover soon with Hop and corp......
Went to the PCS-Perry Central game tonight and thought The Bulldogs did a pretty good job on Woullard. However, when I saw the stats he had 219 yards rushing. PCS won 39-14.
PCS would be a top 10 maybe top 5 team in MHSAA 3A. If the MHSAA wasn't a hostile environment for private schools right now, I'd say they just should ditch the MAIS.

I miss those games, but having to go to their stupid little Uptown stadium would suck. The appeal of that neighborhood is lost on me... and yet, when I'm sucked into going there, I see tourists in knickers and knee-high socks taking pictures of ****. I don't get it. Maybe the world has passed me by.
