26 year old 5th year Senior Taysom Hill has won the Cougar starting QB battle over Tanner Mangum. Both are outstanding QB's and with Ty Detmer as OC, the Cougars will be a real challenge for the Rockets.
agreed, although we bottled up some scheduling magic and have a good chance of coming in fresh and pumped up for a big game against a tired team off a short week and long road trip ending a brutal stretch of games.
Will Hill actually make it to the fourth game without getting injured?
we're their 5th so not if Arizona, UCLA, Utah and West Virginia's defenses have anything to say about it. That said their other guy is probably a better pocket passer so you trade one poison for another.

Right. Both are good QBs with different skill sets. Who knows what kind of defense Candle will have this year, but Hill is a better version of the type of QBs NIU keeps putting out there. Of course big armed QBs have also given the Rockets fits in the past, so Mangum isn't any easier for UT.

It's going to be a very tough road game for UT regardless of who is taking snaps for BYU.

If he's better than Lynch or Harnish we may as well stay home.
