#12 - Appalachian State
It feels strange to be picking a team last that is from a true basketball state, but there you are. App State won only 9 games last season, and return only two starters. The main offensive threat looks to be Ronshad Shabazz, who had a good freshman season at 11.9 points/game. After him it drops down to 6.3 ppg. But with the departure of Frank Eaves, someone is going to have to step into the offensive void.
ASU has a couple of big men, but neither of them played last season. However, they have a trio of 6-8 players who have experience.
ASU's main problem last season was that they couldn't stop other teams. They shot reasonably well, but their opponents shot a lot better. They also turned the ball over too much.
The good news for them is that they had four freshmen last year who played a good bit, so hopefully they will get the sophomore bounce and play a big part in getting the Mountaineers on the road to recovery.
