Congrats to Bowling Green and Goodlettsville (TN)

Hopefully they won't have to play each other, early on

Don't really know much about the Bowling Green kids; but the Goodlettsville Little Leaguers are establishing quite a reputation. We just need for some of them to grow up to be MT Baseball Players! Would be interesting to know whether the 2012 team members (they won the U.S. Title) for Goodlettsville have produced any high school stars.

3 of the kids I coached are on the BG East team amigo. 2 of them made it up there last year. There was a good article detailing how BG and Goodlettesville played each other to get ready for this. All of these kids play travel ball now and with the 2 areas being so close they're in a lot of the same tournaments.

Hell, I figured you were their head coach. Williamsport would never be the same 04-cheers
So, we have a simple solution. the BG kids can play for Western and the Goodlettsville kids for Middle! BRING IT ON!!!!! CUSA BASEBALL ROCKS.
Don't forget McAllister Park here in San Antonio. UTSA and CUSA strong.

I umpired a couple of practice games between the two teams prior to the start of the tournaments. They are very good, fundamentally sound, well-coached teams.

The BG East head coach knows what the hell he's doing. He's been coaching in that league forever and has forgotten more baseball than most coaches know.

He has Matt Myers in the dugout with him right now. Western's former coach (let go) and current Bowling Green High School coach. His son plays first and pitches and is one of the kids I coached to a county championship in the league below.

He also has Terry Obee a former NFL player helping in the dugout. His son Devin is a 2 year player on this team.

Paul Kilgus who kicked around the Majors for several teams helps with the pitching staff. (Everyone will give a lefty pitcher one more shot...lol)

I used to coach little league in Warren County South. They won the state 4 years ago but crapped the bed in Regionals. I had 2 kids on that team that won state. I love getting them young and working with them.

I've probably hung up my coaching cap for the last time but the last 7 years I spent helping out was probably the most fun since I wasn't coaching one of my sons.

Baseball is alive and well in Southcentral Kentucky and Northcentral Tennessee. Good ball being played around here.

Very impressive. It all boils down to good pitching, and pitching depth.

I'm low man on the totem pole. I coached 4 and 5 year-old teeball this year. I was just happy by the end of the year the kids would run to first instead of third.

One of our little kids, during a game, chased his own ball that he hit and got to it before the fielders 03-lmfao

Hopefully it carries over to the collegiate baseball field at some point because us and MTSU., we both have been dreadful in baseball for a long time now....Side note awesome to see BG baseball getting it done for the 2nd year in a row, did they win any games last season at Williamsport? If my memory serves me correctly I don't think they did, hopefully they take the next step starting Friday against team from San Antonio...

Also on a more personal note, my son just finished his 3rd season of playing tee ball and I know you hear about crazy sports parents but man I was not prepared for what I have witnessed just coaching 1st base and helping out these last 3 seasons...These kids were 4,5 and 6 and you would think they are signing a MLB contract the day after season ends with how these parents act....

Also another pet peeve is the parents who are the loudest do not volunteer their time or do anything to help to help the league, if you are going to ***** and moan all the time at least give your time up to help these kids and league, if not shut up! Sorry off my soapbox for the day...

Preach on, brother.

We had one mother who knew all the answers. Said she played college softball.

Brought her twins to ONE freaking practice out of about a dozen. No wonder her kids were the worst on the team.

Looks like BG (Great Lakes) and Goodlettsville (Southeast) won't face each other until the American Championship.
I've long since believed that Bowling Green has a secret factory in which they produce these kids, seems like they make it every year. It's a recurring Little League trend, the same Leagues tend to appear on a rotating basis every few years.

Goodlettsville, McCalister Park, Chula Vista, and Bowling Green this year have more individual LLWS Appearences in the last 10 years than several states do in the history of the competition.
You're up, Bowling Green.

Goodlettsville wins 3-2 and advances to winners' bracket semis with 2-run 2-out walk-off double

Damn Chula Vista has taken out the San Antonio McCalister Park kids a couple times. Chula Vista always seems to have 6'1" 12 year olds all over their roster. Makes it a tough out every time. Always good to see the San Antonio team there often though. The Softball LL World Series just completed and a San Antonio area (Helotes) team won that tournament. It'd be great if the San Antonio McCalister team won as well. 04-rock
Good stuff for Goodlettsville! I call my second home down in Hendersonville TN which is next door to Goodlettsville
WKU's old baseball coach has a son on the BG team and is a coach also
Bowling Green advances over TX. 11-1 with the game called early due to the 10 run rule.
Screaming parents, screaming coaches, curveballs by 11 year olds... sometimes it's hard to go watch little league games... anyway, Go BG
