This area has two assistant coaches returning coach Frakes and new coach Reed. The secondary has been a problem area defensively for some years now.

DaQuan Pace 5'10, 170 who has started since he was a frosh and has 3 letter returns for his senior year. Austin Sanders a 5'7, 187 DB also returns for his senior year. Senior Andy Brown 5'11, 207 switches between LB and DB and maybe a rover in the new system and had a solid first year at EMU.

The junior class includes Jason Beck 6'1, 201 who has started as a true frosh, former QB Brandon Bossard 6'2, 213, Aaron Abbott 6'0, 206, Juan Giraldo 5'11, 200 who started most games last year and Ikie Calderon 5'9, 180 who was injured last year.

The sophomore class includes JUCO newcomer Ben Bergeson at 5'10, 185,
Tim Gordon 5'11, 170, Ross Williams 5'11, 170, Justin Moody at 5'10.175 who earned a scholarship last year.

Redshirt frosh Brody Hoying 5'11, 210 was a highly rated recruit who was out for the season last year with an injury.

The true frosh features Vince Calhoun at 5'11, 175, Jordan Porter at 6'0, 200, Jalen Phelps 5'10, 165, Rashon Davis 5'11, 170, Kevin McGill 6'0, 182.

There are several walk ons Cortez Gary 6'0, 180 true frosh and Brandon Macklin a 6'0, 200 sophomore.

The competition here should be interesting to watch at we switch over to 5 DBs.
Brown now at safety, Beck at Hybrid.

Calderon a playmaker until he got hurt. Moody a playmaker trying to find a spot, between corner and safety.

Those 5 freshman have really upgraded the secondary talent, if we can keep them in the program and healthy for the next 4 years.
