Let's face it, they don't like any of the present viable candidates and their network partners will likely offer more money and maybe a jointly owned Big 12 Network for them to stay at 10.
Why not take the money and wait it out to see if someone can make themselves a sure fire add?

Would be great to see everyone tuck their dong and crawl back to the AAC saying we love it here
The Big 12 remind me of the old Big East they had 8 schools

You guys are the only ones who "deserve" to get off the island.

This is dumb. It's not a merit system. It never has been.

No. There will be no groveling. Our contributions have a certain value. It is not a parasitic relationship.

There in nothing about the current candidates that is lesser than every other candidate that has moved on in the past.
None of them were "sure fire adds"... It's impossible to check all the boxes when you're competing against schools that make 20X more revenue.
What more is there to do beyond win a NY6 bowl? Are you talking about institutional dynamics? The size of UCF's student body should demand inclusion. Are you talking about AAU? Enter Tulane.
The absurdity of the situation is that it's never been a merit system. It's a club.
Everyone that the Big 12 is looking at would do just fine.

this isnt true..bowlsby and credible media laready said the networks arent against expanison
a jointly owned Big 12 Network means the LHN is gone, if you think the longhorn netowrk has chance at dying before this is decided you are wrong
you portrayed your evils advocate like it was te likley when it has little to no chance of happening
IMO i think the netwroks might oppose 4 but i dont see them being against 12..some sort of realignment will happen in the next 2 months
its a done deal for some schools friends...no point in saying otherwise
If this B12 expansion deal does't for whatever happen it would strengthen the AAC going into contract negotiations.
It would also strengthen the hand of the G5 if the AAC starts to take off with multiple ranked teams every year. The powers that be would feel more compelled to expand bowl access down the road.

Two of BYU, Houston, UConn, and Cinn. Most likely BYU and Cinn for a B-12 North Division of BYU, Kansas, K-State, Iowa St, WV, and Cinn.

ECU and Cincy, conference mates for life.
If the B12 doesn't expand...everyone rumored to be selected will be disappointed but no one will feel left behind. Order will resume in the G5 and fewer expansion threads will be posted.
If the Big 12 doesn't expand, you would see Memphis, UC, UConn, and UH posters:
