Marshall takes Trey Rodriguez yet you sit here on a message board and call kids dumb.
I think its good these kids get chances at University's because what type of society would we be if we gave up on them?
On the other hand though I do see forcing these kids through the system because they can play football isn't much better. Kam Carter had obvious troubles with even acting like an adult in the classroom yet got into Penn State a top 100 University out of high school.
Chauncey the other DL said it best in the 1st episode this season said something along the line that kids form Mississippi have this idea it's JUCO then onto a 4 year University and that they don't even try and qualify out of high school. He went onto say that he feels its schools systems that feed into that and Ms. Wagner agreed.

That is a fair assessment of the school system in Mississippi. We have one of the best JUCO systems in the nation- athletically and possibly (doubtful) academically. As an anecdote, a good number of the 350+ students in my graduating class had their eyes set on junior colleges (if any at all) from the beginning and didn't even apply to four year universities. It's easier, it's cheaper, and sometimes that's all that students are trained to look at. They get this idea from a young age that "well, I'm not smart enough (or simply can't afford) to get in/get a scholarship to a 4-year university, so I'll just go to JUCO first."

Nice taking a swipe at a former player at FAU. TR was dismissed for violation of tem rules, not because he failed to qualify or failed to maintain his eligibility. Now you and your holier than thou thoughts can go crawl back in a hole where you and the FAU athletic department belong. Because you both stink to high heaven.

There is a reason only 18% of JuCo kids ever make it to a 4 year college campus in IA/IAA. That number is also probably skewered a little bit. Because there are a few 15-20 that are legit DI players that go to a JuC/CC to rehab an injury.

Trey was grey shirted for not having grades than suspended to start his FAU career then he got in trouble again was given another chance one in his last spring at to get good grades and prove his worth and he failed to do that.
Marshall football is built on taking players with issues. Every year it's former P5 commit heading to Marshall after getting kicked off team or not qualifying. Marshall is the Last Chance U of FBS because it's the only way to get someone to live in WV.
I love owl country. I would love to know what you look like in real life compared to in my head. I'm proud of you for sticking with your owls even though they seem to always suck. You put a lot out there and aren't afraid to say anything about everything.
My favorite coach on the show is the DL coach.
East Mississippi seems like the Marshall of the JUCO level. Just take any talent no matter what issue they have.

That's just that the nature of JuCo. They're there for one of 3 reasons; they didn't qualify academically, they got in trouble or perhaps think they can play well enough to get the offers they didn't get it in high school.

Yep. If any juco was featured on Netflix, you would see something very similar.
Not every student in MS is told to go to a JUCO. Most of our star athletes aren't smart enough to go D1.

I went to MS Gulf Coast CC and worked with football for 3 years. Some of the brightest, most talented people I ever met were there. They were just a little too small, or went to a lightly recruited school. Some people, though, were absolute morons who couldn't spell college.

Buddy had always been this way. He was this way when I was at MGCCC 8 years ago. He gets a bad rap on that brawl though. Delta started that before the game. He said some things he shouldn't have but the MACJC should've done more to Delta.

Isn't Marshall just a 4 year JUCO? 03-lmfao05-stirthepot

Played high school football with him. He was a beast on the d-line. We called him Debo. I remember playing Alabama QB Tyler Watts. Tyler was running for his life all night because we were in his backfield so fast.

"We." Is that like when Mike Golic talks about how many sacks him and Reggie White combined for?

Well, we did use a few blitz packages, so everyone was in the backfield on several occasions. lol

One of our linebackers broke his nose that game. Taped it up at halftime and went back out there to crack some skulls. Real crazy mofo.

Saw where Season 3 will shift from East Mississippi to Indepedence CC in Kansas

Had a buddy tell me about this series the other night. Started watching season 1 last night. Definitely interesting to see the personal dynamics with the different players. Hope to watch a couple more episodes tonight.
Only about half way through 2 at this point. Johnson looks like a kid that has great natural leadership abilities. Hopefully, it was just a situation where he made a dumb mistake. I think he can do some great things at FAU.

Agreed. Be good to see how he does against good competition. I think he is a really good player (FYI)
The academic girl is the one who holds the team together.

Buddy Stephens could give a sh*t less about the players. I wonder how many come back to visit him ?

The running back who ended up at West Georgia ran his mouth about as much as the head coach.

The DC seemed like a pretty good dude, along with the DL coach.
