Gives an incredibly powerful speech....the kind that makes me despise Trumps unamerican platform just a little more.

K
Can't wait to hear Ambassador Stevens family and fiancée speak. Oh that's right, they weren't included.
Agree that it was emotional. Unfortunately is was factually incorrect regarding immigration and the constitutional equal protection.
Muslims have no one but Muslims to blame for any perceived "oppression."

What the hell did that man and his family do other than come to America, work hard, have his son sign up to protect America and die for America? Muslims across this nation have assimilated into our culture and embraced our values. Blaming people like this is about as bigoted as can be.

So in a religion of 1.3 billion people its reasonable to blame patriotic American Muslims for the actions of a tiny percentage of Muslims. Maybe we should blame every white male for every mass shooting a white male has been involved in or every white male serial killer

The American Muslims I've been lucky enough to know love this country and are great people. It's bigoted to lump them with the people who do awful things because some ******** invoke their religion to do terrible things.

The kkk claims to be a Christian organization but i don't put that on Christians

Bad example, white men are already blamed for every evil in the world by the left.

The lefts fascination with importing muslims especially from terrorist areas is stupid. Why are you not cheer leading for African Christians? There is a radical mosque in Fairfield Cincinnati where they preach all things hate. I know cafeteria muslims who don't want to bring in refugee muslims. When Islam has a global reformation wake me up. The KKK, they were democrats so don't know much about them, they are part of your Big Tent.

Good lord no group of people who has has it so good plays the victim card quite like some of my white male brethren. Trying to get others the same rights and opportunity the white males have been fortunate enough to have isn't blaming and white males continue to do better than almost every demographic. Things are pretty good for us.

Blacks are serial killers at the same rate of population as whites. They don't get media attention because they mostly kill blacks and not Suzy and Becky. Media does not care about hood victims. Mark is just ignorant on this subject.

Very very few. Islam is at odds with our values. Some who call themselves Muslim may love it here. Islam doesn't embrace them. They are just as dead as the rest of us to that evil cult.

Fair enough. That doesn't make the speaker's statement about the constitution and immigration true. Sadly the low information folks will eat it up.

Don't know why people keep repeating the falsehood "a tiny percent of 1.3 billion". Sorry but that is just ignorance. Majorities in many Muslim nations support terrorism.

And Muslims don't invoke their religion to do terrible things, their religion invokes Muslims to do terrible things.

The political parties of today aren't the parties of the 1950s. In the 1950s a Republican president supported top marginal tax rates in the 90% area. The democrats were absolutely on the wrong side of history on racial issues until the late 50s early 60s when there was a shift inside the party and the party embraced civil rights legislation and issues the African American community cared about. Up until that point it isn't surprising that African Americans supported the party of Lincoln.

We're talking about modern America, however. Find me a KKK person who at this point is voting democrat or supporting democrats. Hell David Duke has given Trump a rousing endorsement (along with white supremacist groups across the country) and Duke has even taken Trump's ability to gain support through racial and religious identity politics as a sign that he should run for office.

Republicans like to act like African Americans are blindly following the democrats but they are supporting candidates who advocate for their rights and don't basically call them liars when they talk about the issues they struggle with on a daily basis. When the democratic party was largely a racist party they voted republican. When the party supported civil rights issues, voting rights and fighting poverty African Americans voted democrat. Republicans could be a party of more than white men (and even had smart party strategist after Obama was elected develop a strategy to broaden the party base), but too many voters in the party are openly hostile to people of different race, religion and ethnicity and the party platform is consequently hostile as well.

So we have reached this point with a demagogue appealing to our worst prejudices as the nominee. The intellectuals are abandoning the party one after the other. Top speechwriters and operatives are openly hostile to Donald Trump. The governor of the state that hosted the convention refused to go. The last two republican presidents won't support Donald Trump. The last two republican nominees for president won't support Donald Trump. I'm sure Ronald Reagan is rolling in his grave over the thought of Donald Trump.

I have a fascination with the Religious Freedom and the part it has played in American history. Some conservatives seem to want to ignore that type of Constitutional protection. I'm done with this. You've demonstrated your hate time in time again towards anyone different than you.
