friend just texted the rumors that Memphis looks like they will get an invite

When is it thought the Big 12 will make the official announcement?

would be great for the City of Memphis and the State of Tennessee

2 sec schools a Big 12 school

only thing left would be getting a MLB team in Tennessee
Possibly September or October of this year, I think.
I would love to replace ole miss with an annual game with UT
Play both of them
I know it's all about football but how good would basketball be...just think if the 4 new schools were Memphis, UC, UConn and BYU. It would be neck and neck with the ACC as best.

ONLY if the Big 12 incoming teams also incorporated the physical Big East basketball (think 5 people fouling on every play...with only 1 being called every other play) style that Syracuse, Pitt, Louisville, and Notre Dame took to the ACC.

Syracuse-UCONN
Pitt - UC
Louisville-Memphis
Notre Dame-BYU

Sounds like a good conference rivalry holiday tournament.

I think the OLE MISS series will end for sure once the BIG12 invite comes.

If the Braves keep losing, you can probably get them........
had thought Nashville could get the Rays...but I think they are now building a new stadium

think about this ..if Memphis gets in the Big 12...only the states of Texas and North Carolina would have more power 5 teams than Tennessee

Tennessee with 3 teams equal with California and Florida more than any of the States in the big 10 outside of Indiana

California has 4 - UCLA, USC, Stanford, Cal

that it does

It really does but I think they have the Big 12/SEC challenge so it would be more like this:

Kansas-Kentucky
Memphis-Tennessee
Texas-Arkansas
Oklahoma-Florida
I starting to think byu may be a no go due to eastward expansion and you have to believe that Houston is a lock. I see us,Houston, Cincinnati, and maybe uconn. Houston will be even if not better than byu this year and going forward.
Houston has never had sustained success nor do they have fan support. They couldn't even draw 35,000 to the AAC Championship game with a shot at a Major Bowl.... Houston is NOT a lock.

Depends on how many conference games there would be. 8, you can still play one good team OOC. 9, you'll need buy games to ensure 6 or 7 home games.
The Rays aren't going anywhere and MLB is actively ting to get Oakland a new stadium in Oakland and then there is talk of expansion after that is done.

What cities look viable for MLB?
Oakland will just move further south in the Bay Area (San Jose, Santa Clara) if Oakland can't get a new stadium.

There are no cities that will realistically get an MLB franchise by relocation anytime soon, and it certainly wouldn't be Nashville.

San Juan maybe.

That's very true. Being down in Texas one of the rumors is that schools are saying they want Houston for political reasons but in the end the Texas schools dont actually want another Texas Big 12 school when they already own the Houston market. So will be interesting to see how this all really plays out, obviously.
