I saw the release out of the school today about the baseball stadium upgrades. I have to ask 2 realistic questions

1. I thought that work had already started on this, I swear I remember someone saying on here that the project would begin once baseball season ended. Any idea why the delay?

2. How on earth did the project increase in value by 6 million dollars what appears to be overnight? Did the indoor Jacuzzi in Scott Farmer's personal suite cost more than expected?

I'm only sort of trolling on question 2. The rest of this is completely serious.
trolling their message boards, their's been HUGE back lash because work wasn't started as promised and Farmer and company had remained absolutely silent on the matter.

In fact, I read supposedly a local sports pundit down their that had called out the Cajuns AD out for answers and "evading" the matter had actually faced reprimand due to his "prodding's"

The price hasn't increased. That is a flat out lie by Scott Farmer. The project was approved in last Year by Savoie at a cost of $16-17 million. This was broadcast nationally by Scott Farmer during the regionals last season. Robe mentioned it in December again at a Diamond Club meeting for baseball boosters.

The truth is Scott Farmer failed to secure enough funds. He waited until roughly 30 days ago to let people know that he didn't have the funds to grant the NTP to Lemoine to begin demo. The UL Foundation will fund roughly $13 Million for the project saving Farmer's backside AGAIN!!!!

The Cajuns issue in the sports pundit department is that their primary sports pundit is partially employed by the University. No matter what he says, he'll never completely escape the idea that he might be saying what the University wants.

And that's not saying Jay Walker isn't very good at what he does, it's just difficult to win in his situation.

If the cost was announced at $16-17 million and the Cajun Foundation is supplying $13 million, how much actual money did the AD raise? Will the full project be built?

$3 million raised. Yes the full project will be built, sort of. The top of the line option came in at $21M. That included a tremendous players lounge area which is on hold. Everything else is going forward. The players lounge will come later.
Did Coastal and ULL team up on this venture?

They're both coming up short on funding for two big projects they've been touting.

It's a joke. Less funny when I have to come back and explain it.

Our AD didn't try to raise the funds.

We have the funds now just had to take out a loan...stadium will be built as planned but we are already 6 weeks behind and probably 2 weeks from demo...might play first couple weeks at a local stadium then have the ornamental stuff and bells and whistles added throughout the season.

Glad to here that. Everything aside that coach of yours deserves the best.
This Tigue debacle is simply another sad example of how we hired and kept an incompetent boob. I cannot believe our president is willing to let this man continue to embarrass the university. Remember it was Scott Farmer that tried to run off a future hall of fame softball coach. The coach resigned because when the season was about to start SF again lied to him and did not have the funds promised over and over. He then said he could hire another coach like Lotief over the course of a week. The president had to bail out that situation.

Then we also have the first Tigue debacle overseen by SF who promised the funds to the day that it collapsed. Coach Robe with tears in his eyes had to explain what happened to the baseball following.

That fine APC we have, well SF had scaled it back because he was too lazy to raise the money for the full facility. Again Hud had to quit coaching in order to go out and raise the needed funds to deliver as promised.

Alden report, SF refused to participate in any meaningful way, and when it was delivered told everyone it was not needed.

This man is a bull in a china closet. He needs to go the first Tigue debacle.
Just show your fan base this picture

It took 2 years after a new stadium to win a Natty. That's a big return on investment.

Just as a clarification of fact, I am not employed by the university in any way. I work for Townsquare Media, which has the broadcast rights.

Oh, and demolition of the grandstand begins Wednesday if I'm not mistaken.

I have been mistaken before LOL

If it does...only 45 days behind...good thing the contractor isn't as inept as the AD or that would cost us what 3 or 4 home series? How many dollars? For a team many pick for Omaha. Not one rental company was sent an equipment list or calls inquiring about equipment or rental dates as of Friday.
