So ratings go up for CNN and MSNBC when they air a GOP lovefest. You would think they get it. But they'll continue with liberal lovefests afterwards and their ratings will tank back to normal.

Cnn and msnbc's ratings will go into the crapper next week when they televise the short bus convention.
So there were about 22 million views total. There are about 320 million people in the country, about 280 adults. That is a lot of people not paying attention.

Actually, the convention ratings are almost always higher for Democrats than Republicans. With that said, there is no correlation between convention ratings and election outcome.

The one time Republicans had a huge edge in the tv ratings was 1976, which makes sense when you think about it.
Actually I switched back & forth between all 3 to scope out what was said by different commentators . eventually last night I locked on for a couple of hours with CNN as They showed a lot more of the actual speakers at the convention. especially towards the end. MSNBC had the usual Republican hostility so I only wandered in a few times. Matthews has become a total jerk. Madcow, You already know what She will say before She opens Her mouth.
I cant wait to see the ratings for day 2, I bet they will be yuuuuuuger!
Havent heard the rating yet for day two but according to one GOP Senator, they jumped the shark. I thought that was day one when they trotted out their biggest star. Chachi.
I wonder how many are on youtube watching videos after it aired live. I am. I didn't watch any of it live.

it does seem like there is only 280 adults in our population of 320 million.
If anything worth watching took place, you will find out about it today anyway. Apparently, on the night where some substance about jobs should have been revealed, so far the only thing making the news is "Lock Her UP"

And almost none in government!

And almost none who voted for Hillary, Bernie or the Donald.
Michelle sure is an amazing speechwriter!

GOODBYE RUBY TUESDAY
Nielsen ratings report an average of about 32 million people watched Trump's speech last night, which is up a bit over Romney in 2012 but quite a bit lower than McCain's 38 million in 2008. I suspect a lot more people turned into Monday's convention to see if it was going to be any different or interesting than most conventions, and when they realized it's not, the numbers steadily decreased (compared to past conventions) each succeeding day.

But to be fair, I also imagine the ratings next week in Philly will be down too, even though there are quite a few headliners (Presidents Clinton, Obama, Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, Michelle Obama) speaking.

TV has changed a lot since 08 too. Viewers can watch the entire convention on their mobile devices and any speech is available on demand the next day. Plus Trump went super long, which something the 3 minute youtube video generation does not do well
