Pretty Classy.

As I was listening to Sirius radio on the College channel driving down the road, the SEC media days were the focus. Bret was being interviewed about his team and upcoming schedule. He mentioned Louisiana Tech as a game similar to Toledo.

My best paraphrase is "Toledo like tech won a bunch of games the year prior, got up early, hung in there, hung in there, and hung in there, and won it in the fourth quarter".

I thought this was classy, because there was no belittling at all. The conversation was smooth with no hesitations, smirks, or excuses. Toledo did a nice job in Little Rock, and it seems they got the respect they deserve.

Appreciate that! Go Rockets!!
Thank you!
Last year he got belittled after losing to Toledo not because of what he actually said, but what others thought he said......

Coach stated that teams like zero state (et al) schedule easy non conference wins to pad their records. Either they schedule very weak G5 teams with losing records or FCS teams.

However, he (and Arkansas) took a chance a scheduled a traditionally strong with a history of beating "the big boys". Then Toledo did it's thing, as usual, and he got beat.....then ridiculed very publically on the national stage. He had his words twisted against him by those who believe (and really don't know) that Toledo is on the same level of play as Eastern Michigan. Instead he should have applauded!!!!!! Especially by Toledo people, for giving our team, school, and faithful the opportunity.

Many teams and coaches across the country shy away from putting Toledo on their schedule. Teams like EMU are welcomed with open arms.

Coach thank you for the opportunity and your kinds. You are welcome in Toledo anytime......
Post game radio coverage blasted him for not running the ball. Problem was the Hogs could NOT run the ball against the Rockets. That fact was lost on the announcers and callers.

Most of the so-called experts and very few fans knew how good the Toledo front 6/7 was last year. That was a very good DL with some outstanding individuals that had NFL Defensive Line size bodies. A few knew about them, but not that many. DB's also did one helluva job in that game. Finally, we get a DC who knew what to do, and now he's gone.

I think Coach George coming out that same program under Jon Heacock will do fine.

Which games will be his biggest challenges?

Make no mistake about it, Arkansas scheduled Toledo because they thought they would beat the daylights out of you. That is what they do. But you guys surprised, similar to ULM a couple of years before. Do not expect any games soon as the hogs will not schedule you now that they know you have a good program. Looking forward to you being in Jonesboro.
