Does anyone know what the policy is for the use of the south campus track by members of the public? I don't really feel like waiting for campus rec to open to start my workout.

I can't help you with the policy, but...Neil!
You can use the track next to the Fieldhouse.

BTW, Breakaway running has an organized track workout (free to all levels) on Tuesday nights.

Great. Thanks. I'm looking for a surface to work on 100s. Are there stairs at the Fieldhouse?

Thanks, if you read it I'll really be interested to hear if you enjoyed it.

Go over to garage. That's what I do.

Absolutely.

Good thinking. I'll do that.
I used to run around the campus. Good loop. Also I'm pretty sure the track behind St Mary's on walnut grove can be used by anybody.

Same thing with the East High School track

Yeah, the Crossfit Chickasaw folks use it.

As for St. Mary's, Fleet Feet Poplar/Perkins has a Thursday 6pm speed workout that does track work at St. Mary's. I think they are focusing more on hills and stuff now that the summer 5k circuit is winding down and fall marathon training is starting.

I may have to go up to St. Mary's for hills on Thursdays. Usually I just run the Mud Island bridge for simulated hills but I need a place to bear crawl. Does anyone know whether Halle Stadium has a track?
Since we also live nearby the wife and I used to use it often a few years ago. When they rebuilt it a couple of years ago, they pretty much keep it locked up now and only for university use. I tried once to walk on it but I got chased off by what seemed to be the ghost of Murray Armstrong. However, like someone else said, the track by the fieldhouse is always available to use plus you may even get invited into a game of 'ultimate frisbee' which is always going on it seems. Just watch out for the ticket nazis that will tag your car even on a Sunday when you are the only car on a vast empty lot. As long as you're not a current student it's pretty much a toothless ticket though.

I see what you did there. The rugby team was practicing when I was there. It took everything I had not to ask them if I could join in.

"Honey, I'm back."
"What on Earth happened to you?"
"I went for a run and a rugby match broke out."

Last time my wife saw me play rugby I hit someone wrong and ended up with nerve damage in my shoulder. She has banned me from playing rugby but if I ever get the chance then I will definitely ask for forgiveness rather than permission.

if you are wanting hill work...there was a great hill on the north side of patriot lake on the east side. Also the Tour De Wolf trail is nice. Some hills. Some shade. And some open spaces.
