The only thing I would do is trade a school for JSU, and maybe another for EKU.
Then UNA and Chattanooga would have their rivalry with JSU.
NJIT would be one I would trade. Hard to say about the other.

Would UAB work rather than JSU? And I kinda feel dirty for excluding NJIT since they are a current member. I am happy to have them in the ASUN, but if they left for greener pastures my feelings wouldn’t be hurt.

UAB would do...

The problem with WKU and Bellarmine is football. But they ain't playing each other now regularly in football anyway, soooo.
That would be a pretty cool conference from an ASUN fans’ perspective. Not so much for fans from the other conferences. And to be perfectly honest, I’m not sure I as a Liberty fan would be excited to be in that football conference as opposed to being Independent.
1.No Big South schools will leave to go to this conference.

2.No Southern Conference schools will leave for this since it would be a downgrade for football standpoint.

3.No OVC will join same as number 2.

4.None of the FBS schools will downgrade for this conference.

Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman could join. As, BCU going to ASUN would help cut the spending the school spends for athletics. The furthest travel costs would be New Jersey, Kentucky and Virginia, but the key sport that is expensive is football which they will not have to worry like they do in MEAC.

South Carolina State would go down to D2.

Howard and North Carolina Central will go to the Big South. The rest of the MEAC got a hint from D2 CIAA conference that they will have a home.

Bellarmine would fit better in the Horizon and NJIT and Monmouth should get a full invite to Big South.

Valdosta State, West Georgia, West Florida, Tampa, Nova Southeastern, Florida Tech, Augusta, Columbus State, Francis Marion, Lincoln Memorial, West Alabama, Delta State and Union are all possible D1 contenders.

First off, you need to read all the posts involved.

We all said this is not happening, it's just for fun.

Second of, Florida Tech, West Alabama, Delta St or Union will never go D1...

Valdosta State should but they will not.

D-2 is a good place for Valdosta State. If any more Georgia publics move up, I'd imagine it will be Augusta and North Georgia. I know Columbus State has similar delusions of grandeur, but the A-Sun isn't desperate enough to need someone that makes USC-Upstate look like a top notch program.

Given this make believe conference I’d be one football team short of a dozen. Who would be #12?

North
WKU - Marshall - Liberty - ODU - UNA - UAB
South
Charlotte - App St. - KSU - Ga. St. - CCU -

or

East
ODU - Liberty - CCU - Charlotte - App St. - Marshall
West
WKU - UAB - UNA - KSU - Ga. St. -

I think I prefer the East/West split.

South Alabama or Southern Miss...
That would make a 21 team conference. I think I’d prefer another of the existing teams move up to FBS. Chattanooga or FGCU maybe?

Your right
FGCU to keep the ASUN schools coming along.

I can see that happening one day, along with their old rival Southern Indiana, but I'm giddy over the ASUN and can't wait 'til next season.
When I think of the Horizon I think cloudy rusty cooling dark wintery small time boring schools. Just sayin’.

And I totally get the same could be said for ASUN for small time boring schools. But hey! We’ve got the sun going for us.

I’d love to see the ASUN with at least 16 basketball teams (that are recognizable).
Florida A&M has posted that a "Major" announcement will be held tomorrow. If they are changing conferences, I would have to assume the ASUN with football in the Big South would be the logical choice. What do yall think?
I think I’ll wait to see how it plays out. I have also heard SWAC mentioned in regard to FAMU.
Is Florida A&M a school we'd want in the ASUN? What do they provide? Aren't they a HBCU? If so, would they lose their identity if they left a group of similar schools? Is this the first step towards splitting the ASUN and UAC or whatever it's called?

FAMU is a good school. The only problem I would have is the amount of Florida schools in the ASUN.

but it dont matter, the announcement wasn't about that.

I dont think they would lose their identity from not being in a HBCU conference, Tenn State has been in the OVC for a long time now, they still have their identity.

I personally dont think they would be part of the ASUN UAC deal. I just hope things get back to normal soon.
I’m kinda glad we didn’t add another Florida school. Of course, Id’a been the first to welcome them and be thankful for another ASUN member had they joined.

I understand...

The only Florida School I would like to see is West Florida. But I have reasons other people in the conference may not understand.

I would like to see a school in the Carolinas or Washington DC area personally....

If we add another Florida school, I'd definitely be down for UWF or FAMU. But yes, it might be nice to add some more schools along the coast, as you've noted.
Let’s say all we can attract are lower division (NCAA II, III, or NAIA) schools, how would you fill in the holes?.....
