Quote:The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 20 sports in Division I - 10 men's and 10 women's.

NIU finished tied for 245th place out of 295 schools in NCAA Division One. Our Huskies tied St Mary's University of California with 45.5pts.

Notable Division One collegiate athletic programs finishing higher than our never-give-up, fight to the end, damn the torpedos full speed ahead AAC bound Huskies include:

*Stetson
*Kennesaw State
*New Jersey Institute of Technology
*LIU Brooklyn
*Pepperdine
*Utah Valley

Thanks to bountiful prayers to Huskie Jebus and many incantations of Holy Pig Dog, Mother of Football we finished above Toledo by .5 pts. So all is not lost.

Decades of poor national performance and middling MAC performance but the ADs all fail upwards. Amazing.

It took what was an unusually down year for most Rocket sports and probably your best overall showings for most Huskie Sports ever to beat us, just FYI. If you would like to post the showings for the past ten years that would be neat.

UT has 15 Varsity Sports. NIU has 17 I believe.

Yeah, I'm sure STF's ears are ringing from all the calls he's receiving from the Big 12. I'll bet after each of our post-season performances, the phone never stops ringing.
