ummmm... No.
The hope is becoming a top 25 program. The juice wouldn't be worth the squeeze for anything short of a move to the AAC...And who knows about that by then.

App state would have to boost their academics big time if they want to get into the AAC . R1 Carnegie Classification is must for new AAC membership

Seems like a tough requirement when nearly half of their current schools don't meet this standard.

The UL president told us at a dinner that he hosted both the Mt. West and AAC commissioners here in Lafayette. They told him they will only look towards R1 universities for expansion. Now if that is a bullcrap answer they gave him idk

If that is true that makes for a pretty limited expansion list.

Colorado State
Florida International
Georgia State
Rice
Buffalo

Nobody is expanding right now so it's probably a moot point.

wait, so because a BR article mentions realignment, people think this is a serious option right now? lol
Screw realignment. This is about becoming a top-25 program. How many other programs in North Carolina can make that claim? One? That's the goal. This guy thinks we have a shot at doing it.

Hope so.

There is so much focus on making the most TV money possible but what is most important is becoming a consistent, dominant team.
