This is merely a guess on my part, but from what I've seen of the current players, my thought is that Marcus, Jr. and Deshawn Watkins will start at the point and two guard. Jalen Jackson at either the three or four spot. Lis at the five, and probably Marius at either the three or four.

Deondre Burns should receive more playing time this season, and he can play either the point or the two spot. Stetson will get minutes at the three spot.

Now comes the unpredictable. The new players. Andre Jones will receive more playing time then the normal freshman, IMO. He's a real talent. And could even possibly break into the starting lineup. Since I've never seen Ryan Pippins and Corbyn Jackson, the jury is still out on them. However, both seem to have nice credentials. Biggie Goldman might be the wild card. He's an outstanding shooter, and there is always room for a shooter. Plus he's 6'9 or 10", and that's always a plus. And he handles the ball extremely well for a big kid.

All in all, that's a pretty darn good roster from where I sit. Maybe the most talented we've ever started the season with. Can they win 30 games? Since that's only happened once in the history of the school, I don't see that happening again. Is it a squad that could win another Sun Belt Championship? Very definitely. But other teams will probably improve, plus Coastal Carolina will be a tough program. So all I can predict is that it will be a fun team to watch, and we'll win a lot of games.04-cheers

My prediction is between 17 -20 wins this season.....COGSCOGSCOGS
I'm hoping for at least 20. I will be disappointed if we win less than 20 with the talent we have coming back. The next season will be very iffy with the talent we'll lose off of this team. I would think 17-20 wins that season could be more probable.
I neglected to figure in Kemy Osse and Oliver Black. Oliver could very well start at the four alongside Lis, and Kemy could start at some position, maybe the three. I look for Kemy to be the sixth man, unless he starts and Jalen plays the sixth man. Hard to fit all the talent into a five man lineup.

You sound like the NEW Mark Adams....04-cheers04-cheers04-cheers
I HOPE Black is someone we can't afford to have on the bench.

Well I'm actually way to old to be the NEW Mark Adams. And unfortunately I don't have his basketball knowledge. I'm just trying to inject a little interest in the board in these dog days of Summer.
I guess Mark is working hard with Chris to get the Texas Tech program going in high gear.04-cheers

And the coaching talent we've lost. We lost the two coaches who obviously did most of the coaching, especially during the games. We'll realize in the next couple of years exactly what we lost in Coach Beard. He's one that comes along very rarely, like Mike Newell. Even with Wimp and Porter, we never had the amount of excitement that we had with Newell and Beard. And I don't think Beard would have won thirty games had he returned, but he is no doubt a great young coach. Whatever you have to have to create excitement in a non-sports town, Newell and Beard had it. And Beard didn't even have Newell's charisma, but he was still so likable.
