Jeff Buckley had one of the great voices in music that many never knew due to a career cut short from his tragic drowning in 1997.

So did his father, who also died tragically:

Some pretty good shredding by Navarro, beginning about 2:47 of this one.

Best Jane's Addiction song IMHO

Nice one Dale 04-bow This one from that same album - Not sure it's their best song, but it is certainly their most unique.

I dig the Peter Tosh tune Lush. There's something about a little reggae that makes my day. It just invites you to do a little shift and shuffle with your favorite frozen adult beverage in hand. Here's one of my all time favs from the master IMHO...

I always dug this one from Chris Isaak (nice live cut BTW)...

I love Lush's music posts, because they are often things I have not heard. Along the lines of reggae, here are a couple more...

Another one of the greatest live albums ever recorded IMHO (and should be cranked to "11")...

That is good stuff BJ! I swear DD sounds like a Carly Simon/Stevie Wonder combo platter singing some reggae for a comparison. I mean that as a compliment.

Yes, Lush's music taste is like a box of chocolates. You never know.....
I'm not sure what the word is for that explains halfway between mildly interested (more than Bob Marley) and hardcore enthusiast, but I do enjoy reggae music and own several albums. So I had to include these songs in case some of you who have never heard of them want to explore some more.

not on his greatest hits but should be

the king of dub music

sweet toots

helped the rocksteady sound come about

one of the best of the 80s

class dismissed.
Great thread. I'll play. Not sure where to begin, nor end.

When I need to bliss out and let the mind go, a little Fela Kuti -

Sitting in my backyard in Oregon, sipping a little Woodford Reserve, wishing I was in Kentucky, Mr. John Prine -

A real freak that I've caught in New Orleans a few times, Anders Osborne -

There's some damn good new country music coming along. Sturgill Simpson has an especially appealing brand of country psychedelia -

In honor of America and the 4th, some good ole Grateful Dead and US Blues -

One more, in the spirit of America. If you haven't caught these two Swedish sisters' version of Paul Simon's classic, give it a listen. Don't be afraid to cry. It's a healthy emotion.
