nice. kinda has a simon & or garfunkel feel to it

She has a beautiful, haunting voice. Very talented indeed.

Both are long but well worth it

Nothing against school bands, but I think this is pretty cool and wanted to post it somewhere, so...

Discovered these guys recently...great stuff to listen to get the blood pumping when lifting.

Not bad. Some parts reminded me of Sabbath on steroids. I must say, the band's name alone is enough to generate some buzz. I could definitely go ape shat on the wood pile for a bit listening to these guys after downing a cup of java.

Digging a little deeper in the vault...

Sturgill Simpson was a surprise guest on Chris Stapleton's SNL appearance this weekend, the first time the two have shared a stage. If these guys are the future of country music, I'm a country music fan.

Found this album yesterday for $2. Considering that the band's name is Cam Newton, the subject matter is about partying with aliens, and it was $2, I had to get it.

Turns out, it's a pretty good jazz fusion album.

the Cramps

I got a couple of their early albums back when I was a freshman/sophomore in high school and played them at home. My dad of course bitched about them and their lack of ability. Then Green Door came on and he told me the song was written about a place on his college campus at the University of Missouri. Don't know if that is true or not but he stopped complaining after that.

The problem is they're not. The Nashville Sound industry is only concerned with bro country at the moment. Sturgill Simpson won a Grammy and didn't even get invited to the CMT music awards.

These guys are good, but they'll be going it alone given the current state of affairs in country music. And good on them. They don't need Nashville.

You're absolutely right. Fortunately, there's a solid market for musicians like these guys, Jason Isbell, Margo Price, etc. Sturgill, in particular, has blasted the garbage on country radio - he wrote a long scree after the ACM finally decided to honor Merle Haggard, but not until he died.

Had some insomnia this week that led me to watching the Avett brothers documentary on HBO. I enjoyed the part where they talked about a big label in Nashville calling them in to perform/interview, then asking how many of their own songs they would want on an album.
