A really good young man and great representative of Memphis.
“This is for people who are like I was as a child,” says Poe. “As a kid, I would wish for someone to come along and, not so much give me anything, but just tell me how to get things done. There’s no better way to get somewhere than to listen to someone who’s already there, where you want to be."

I can relate to this. I was raised in South Memphis by a single mother. Dreamed about that all the time.
So happy for Dontari.

Like Deangelo, his mama worked so hard and raised him right.

Like his mom, all Tiger fans are proud of the fine young man he has become. What a great example of youngsters to follow.
Used to hoop with him in gym class. Glad one of us made it
Y'all know he was one of my most favorite Tigers his whole career. They don't come any finer than Mr. Poe.

This kind of camp and activity and involvement is what this city needs to make progress against poverty and everything that goes with it.

Kudos to Mr. Poe! Please help him by getting involved in the parks program, which can use vast improvements.
The guy is a class act. Exemplary young man.
We all should do more of this. It's great to have it coming from an NFL player who came from here!! Major plus. But we should follow Poe's example. Help a kiddo near you. Show them some attention. Be a good example. Help our community grow.
.
Thank you DP!

And the Steelers (DeAngelo). And the Broncos(Paxton). And the Dolphins (Bobby McCain). And the Bucs......actually even tho they have Ifedi and A.Cross....dunno that I can pull for Winston. Good to have options!

So true! We could use 10,000 just like him.
Having locals player from the U of M who made it to the NFL and return to town only helps the program. West should be proud of his former players.
