i really don't see how we don't get into the college World Series next year
Yeah I think Godwin's on a mission to get us to the CWS so he can retire 23 after he wears it to Omaha. That's pretty big though because I'm sure Alabama offered him sizable increase in pay.

I cannot believe ECU has not been there already. Have to be one of the most decorated BB programs not to have been there. I keep hoping the Pirates get there. It would be a deserved trip for the program and its fans.

We actually ARE the most decorated program to have never been. Literally. We have 28 NCAA appearances without a visit.

Its absurd.
This is great to see.

Herman stays at UH over UGA and USCe.
Rhule stays at Temple over Mizzou.
Niumatalolo stays at Navy over BYU.
Godwin stays at ECU over Bama.

I'm probably forgetting others.

Perhaps coaches are beginning to see certain AAC programs for the gold mines that they are, and moving to middling programs and in some cases, even contenders in the P5 isn't necessarily a no brainer.

I hope this is the goal rather than the expectation, because if not, that would give me the idea that the success is perhaps going to your head. Winning a regional in and of itself is difficult enough, much less a Super where you most likely face a top ACC/SEC team in their house.

Good luck with that, we didn't even host one when we had a top 5 RPI the entire season and won 48 games.

No offense, but our facility is much nicer and was built specifically for hosting.

I hated that turf tech had and that was some of the better turf I have seen. Baseball was meant to be played on grass

It had nothing to do with facilities, it had to do with money. If you think you're going to outbid a ACC/SEC school, again, good luck.

Your best shot is locking down a protected seed, but like I said previously, 48 wins and a top 5 RPI all year didn't even do it for us.
He's an Alum at a pretty top job in the sport. Only the likes of UVA, UF, Vandy, SoCar, etc would be able to steal him away and since they aren't in need of a coach right now they may be locked out once he gets us into CWSs on an consistent basis like those programs.

Pirates were able to keep Lebo too.

We lose 2 & 1/2 starters, and bring in one of the best recruiting classes in the nation. We'll legitamtely be a top 15 team next year

Hosted Tennessee in a super regional...
As much as I am happy to see him back, let's keep disciplined expectations
We've hosted a super regional against an SEC team

We've hosted as a national seed before, even before CLS was built. The Regional was in Wilson and Super in Kinston against Tennessee.

Houston hate for the 2017 ECU baseball already? Go figure.
This argument is stupid anyway the Top 8 seeds if they win automatically host if they win their regional. All you have to be is a Top 8 team and you are guaranteed to host the Super Regional. Also all 1 seeds host over 2, 3, or 4, etc if one of the lower seeds knock out a Top 8 team.

You guys did get kind of screwed not hosting your super regional against UT but that was a unique situation, as neither one of you were a one seed. So it became a bidding war which it is hard to out bid the #1 revenue athletic department. The week before Texas was hosted by Rice, so not necessarily a conference thing. If Rice would have won their regional then Houston would have been playing @Rice for the Super Regional.
