Either misleading or inaccurate implication of this OP and title. Expansion of B12 still a viable discussion point after day 2 of B12 meetings. I realize for any of us that may be left out this might be an appealing outcome, it's not really an accurate portrayal of the situation.

Sounds like UT AD Perrin has eliminated UConn. 'It’s tough to play West Virginia a lot … would be tough to play someone similar like that.'
LOL. Some just don't want to let go of the hope. First it was Chip, now the Texas AD. So pretty obvious where the Big12 gorilla stands
Well, at this point if the Big 12 does expand the Texas AD will have a lot of egg on his face.

Perrin suggests expanding now might limit the Big 12's options down the line: "We're probably going to see another round of alignment."

Big 12 teams hate their olympic sports travel to Morgantown, WV...not easy to get to (most have to fly to Pittsburgh...then long bus ride to Morgantown).

There are not any non-stop flights from Austin to Hartford (not many nonstops from Big 12 cities to Hartford...which isn't that big of an airport)...whereas there are at least 3 airlines with non-stop flights from Austin to Orlando. :)

yeah - when the current playoff contracts come up around 2022 or so. also around the time when grant of rights expire.

If that eliminates Uconn it essentially eliminates every team not in Texas Iowa Kansas or Oklahoma as well. Congrats to Tulsa and Houston.

These quotes are great. I look forward to ISU KSU OSU TCU and Texas Tech joining us in a few years.
It is not over. This thing is not over. Cincinnati is leaving. It is not over.
To me the writing on the wall is clear. The less the teams, the easier it is for UT and OU to dissolve the conference when they want to leave so as to not have to pay massive amounts of money. In the mean time UT is making bank off it's network and once they decide where to go, the B12 is kaput. It's the poor idiots at all the other schools I feel bad for, they just don't see what's happening.
Well Memphis already has an invitation. So . . .
Has anyone stopped for a moment and thought about who is talking now, it's Texas. Texas has one vote. If the other schools want to expand, The Big 12 will expand.

None of us know where in negotiations The Big 12 is with Texas as far as the LHN is concerned. The reality is Texas is saying what Texas needs to say to get the most from its leverage with The Big 12.

If anyone takes anything these guys say during these media sessions as gospel they may be sadly disappointed.

You are correct...because if a newly expanded conf was formed in 2, 4 or 6 years...probably will come with a LONG contract and a much more expensive buyout for those that want to eventually leave.

With 3 interim Big 12 Presidents...even with the media/expansion presentation set for tomorrow...not much will get done till those 3 President spots are filled.

Just ask BC1, they're already gone. This is for any FURTHER expansion.
I think he is referring to no interest or excitement for Texas playing West Virginia. He doesn't want to play a lot of those types games. IE all us non power 5 schools. When Texas makes it move it will be seismic and it's not going to end in a conference with any AAC teams in it. Big 10, SEC..Pac 12.
