Tech plays ULL, not Louisiana

Barking up the wrong tree, they don't use "ULL" in any of their athletics branding.
I'm just realizing that MT plays three games out of the state of Tennessee this year. That is gonna be nice to have all but a few games at home (plus a game at Belmont and the Nashville tournament).
One of you basketball gurus on here should give these schedules a rating. Very good, good, average, bad, very bad. Something like that. I would be interested in seeing that but I'm most definitely not the one to tackle it.

Once they are out I plan to in addition to a team-by-team roster breakdown.
Rice appears to have swapped it's TBA game @UT Arlington for an 11/19 date @Nebraska-Omaha. Their RPI last year was 149, out of the Summit League.

@UT-Arlington would have been a very good resume game. Can't wait to watch the Owls this year.

The Florida State game is on 12/6 and not 12/4
UAB vs St. Mary's Nov 27th in Vegas.
Old Dominion's schedule came out yesterday. It looks like it carries plenty of strong OOC competition -

USM is releasing it's full schedule today via twitter and in BOLD are ones that weren't listed above. I will fill in more once I notice

SOUTHERN MISS GOLDEN EAGLES

11/21: Alabama A&M
•11/30: SOUTH ALABAMA
•12/4: at Jackson State
•12/6: at Florida State

**Here are non D-1 or exhibition games:
11/3 host Mississippi College (exh)
11/7 host William Carey (exh)
11/11 host Tougaloo College (regular season)
11/18 host Union University (reg season)..a D2 school from Tennessee

I would imagine this completes our schedule as we play 18 CUSA games and there are 12 regular season OOC games (10 are D1 and 2 non D1)
WKU basketball finally released it's schedule today and it is horrendous in terms of home games. No D2 games though so that is a positive. Next year's schedule should be much better. The previous coaching regime left us handicapped this season. Awful home games for fans. From December 11th to the 17th WKU will travel approx 4,800 miles with games in Indiana-->California-->Michigan. WKU will also be on the road from November 25 until it returns home against Ohio on December 21st.

Campbellsville (Nov. 1) Exhibition
KY. Wesleyan (Nov. 5) Exhibition

Alabama State (Nov. 12) (Vegas tournament home site game)
Jacksonville State (Nov. 16) (Vegas tournament home site game)
@Belmont (Nov. 19)
North Carolina A&T (Nov. 22)
VS. Washington (Las Vegas, Nov. 25)
VS. TCU or UNLV (Las Vegas, Nov. 26)
@Eastern Kentucky (Nov. 30)
@Missouri (Dec. 3)
@Indiana State (Dec 11)
@Saint Mary's (Dec. 14)
@Detroit (Dec. 17)
Ohio (Dec. 21)
Austin Peay (Dec. 28)
Can you explain to me how this mess has anything to do with The previous coaching regime?

As for those non D1 games..are you a season ticket holder? If you are I don't know about you but I go to see Western play and this year my season tickets cost the same but 3 less home games. Sometimes all you can get is non D1 games. Hell when your buy game budget drops from over 200k to 50k and your AD tells you ...

"we need 2 more home games"

Well I put that blame on the ad

An entire month between home games is not cool.

Most of the time it is coaches who make the schedules. Aside from tournaments and occasional series. That is why a lot of this is on the previous regime. Look I like Harper. He is a good guy. And for those western fans that know who I am in person they know I hold no bias on any coaching personnel at WKU.

I can literally count the number of home WKU basketball games on my hands that I have missed in the last 15+ years. Not including the away games I have attended. Of course I am going to be at the game regardless of who WKU is playing. But don't be naive in acting like the home schedule this year isn't bad. I don't know what you are going on about non d-1 games this season seeing as how the only ones are exhibitions. I was saying at least that is an improvement to ditch the regular season non d-1 games WKU has had the last couple of seasons.

To be fair like I said in my initial post. The schedule should improve drastically starting next season.
I know of you and I know you go to the games....so I'm not questioning that. I just fail to see how Harper played any role in our schedule home or away this year. Stansbury had the same amount of day to fill a schedule as Harper would have. I'm sure Todd would have helped (and did) if Stansbury did not have the time.

As for the non-D1 games....

if that is the only home game open to you then I say fill it...don't just leave a date open because it's the only game on the table. I saying this is a shittty home schedule and 3 less home games than last year and I'm paying the same for my season tickets. So to me there is no downside to filling a hole...even if it's non D1

I'm going to most of the games anyways...home and away unless it interferes with football or on the west coast. But honestly I would have rather had a non D1 game at home in that moth long span....

than one of those road games

We could have started St Mary's next season

St Mary's is one of the best games on the schedule though. I am fine with that game honestly.

Harper played a role in the schedule because several of our OOC games are return games. Sure we could have tried to buyout the games or reschedule for next season, but you will just run into the same problem. Better to get most of them out of the way and move on next year with a new schedule under the new regime. Plus as you said with budget cuts and etc...we can't afford to just be buying out random games and then paying for home games this season.

I get what your saying about the D2 games. In all honesty though the price difference between a low level D1 conference team and a D2 conference guarantee game is minimal. Plus the conference office put in new mandates that all the presidents and AD's agreed to about avoiding scheduling D2 regular season games.
I'm just being a little selfish because of the month of no home games and the way Western is doing fans that buy season tickets...

to me it's about $90 I'm spending for nothing..well I'm giving Stansbury $45 and Western $45.

I'm just not very happy with 2 people at Western right now..two people that I respected the hell out of. I'm a big boy so I will get over it because no matter what I'm a Western fan...

I don't blame you for being upset. The home schedule is crap. It sucks, but in my opinion it is better to get it over with in one season then be hindered by games we no longer want to play for the next 2 or 3 years.

Just look at the bright side. In 2018 you will have Wisconsin and St Mary's both in Diddle arena in December.
Some good opponents but terrible travel and tough for fans.
