Full Version: Anyone been to a Sox game and heard the radio promotions for the Toledo game?

The Sox are doing well too, should be pretty packed houses hearing about this. I've actually had my Sox fan friend (I'm a Cubs fan) ask me if I'd swallow my pride and go to the game at US Cellular. I informed him I was and he was discussing getting a few of his NIU alumni coworkers to go with him. Hopefully this isn't an isolated incident, and the Sox's success and radio promotions there have helped out the Chitown Showdown's exposure

You can be a Cubs fan and enjoy a game at Comiskey. Growing up I went to more Sox games. It's always been easier to get a Sox ticket than Cubs. Go Huskies though. I'll be there

I have seen several comments the past month from Sox fans, who have little to do with NIU, who are very interested in attending this game. Most are asking how they can get tickets.

IMO athletics really needs to get info out on how/when Sox fans can get tickets.

Also they should give Sox season ticket holders the opportunity to buy tickets before they go on sale to the public...even if its just a day or two presale code on TM.
What radio station do the Sox play on nowadays?

WLS.

And I think that there is some creedence to the thought that some Sox fans may want to come to a football game at their park. Maybe the attendance will be a little better than I initially expected.

Stay Cool----as you know, the Cubs play at US Cellular on July 25 and 26. You wouldn't have to swallow your pride to be there either of those days.
I am a Cubs fan, and I will go to The Cell at least once a year. Usually, it is because the Sox are playing the Cubs or Boston (my other team).

Did you know the Cubs hosted a World Series in Comiskey Park in 1918?

The White Sox got their name from the Cubs' franchise.

The season ticket holders do have first right of refusal for the seats they have.

I have seen several Sox season ticket holders asking this on facebook and twitter so I have to assume that many do not know this.

Agreed, i think there is still a lot of misinformation and confusion surrounding this. They need to fix that, pronto

Has anyone seen how the field will be configured? A good seat near home plate for baseball may be a crappy end zone seat for football.

Yes, the field will go from the third base line to right field. So, yeah, a home plate seat will be on the side of the endzone. And that's where the expensive club seats (Home Plate Club) will be for those with Skybox and Skyclub seats.

IMO best seats in the house will be the 300 level on the 1st base side between the 30s. Chairback people get first crack at those.

That is other than the skyboxes in that same area which are only going for $3500 for a box of 20 seats with food and some booze.

Interesting how TM has a different image.

I wonder if they'll "tarp off" the first few rows of the 1st Base/Right Field line. Otherwise you're too low and your view of field is blocked by players etc on sideline.

Agree the first 10 or so rows in that 100 level are going to suck big time.

The back 10 rows in the 100 level on the sideline should be ok view wise but the big plus is if its raining or snowing those rows are partially covered by the 300 level.
