Jon Rothstein tweeted:
"Louisville will host William & Mary as part of its 16-17 non-conference schedule, source told @CBSSports."

I'm guessing this is a game scheduled for Omar
The entire schedule is released in September, right?

Dixon should get Georgetown...I can dream, cant I?
More likely GMU or maybe GW.
I thought the schedule was released in June last year, but maybe that was just our listing of opponents excluding details of dates/times. Not sure I can wait until September!
2015-16 schedule was announced on 9/14 but number of leaks of when games would be were out earlier
2014 schedules was announced on 8/28
2013 was announced on 10/4
2012 was announced on 8/10 (the non-conference portion)
2011 was announced on 9/12
The last two years there has been a Charleston/UNCW road swing in late January or early February. Anybody know if that is a semi-permanent feature of the CAA schedule? I'm hoping to blow off work and take a road trip myself. Great food to be had to go with the hoops.
So we should know what next year's schedule is sometime in August, September or October. UL is a positive event. A Georgetown or GW game would be a plus as well.

I'm hoping to see several OOC games with in-state and traditional opponents. Hoping to see more winnable games like Dayton and NCSU last year in the ACC, AAC and A10. Top tier teams in at the Big South, Southern, MEAC, Ivy and Patriot would also be welcome.

Not sure where to put this so going here. Steve McElvene of Dayton who scored 12 pts and got 9 rebounds against us as a Freshman Center last year passed away earlier today. He collapsed and could not be resuscitated.
Interesting, recent Pitino interview article about next season. Projects they will have a top 5 schedule. They do not have a deep team returning at the guard/wing spot.

They open with Evansville on Fri, Nov. 11th, so, assume we will have another "name", guarantee game to open the season.
Read down in the article, and there's some discussion of a 2 games for 1 deal that Louisville struck with Grand Canyon, and apparently a similar deal in the past with Western Kentucky. At least in some years, Pitino apparently likes to get his young players some experience on the road. I wonder if we have offered something similar?

Grand Canyon plays in Phoenix, Rick might just want to get a round of golf in.

If its early enough in the season, he could play at the Golden Horseshoe...
Saw where UVA is playing at UNC-Greensboro (Greensboro Coliseum) next season....and no, the ACC Tournament doesn't return there until 2020, so, no other rationale for playing there...UNC-Greensboro finished with a 204 Ken Pomeroy rating last season. Absolutely no reason for UVA or Tech to not come to Kaplan, other than fear of losing.

My guess, they want exposure and are trying to recruit in that area whereas, Tech and UVA have all the exposure they need in Williamsburg.i
Think they get plenty of exposure in NC during the season.
UVA played Davidson at the NBA arena in Charlotte in exchange for a game in C'Ville. They do seem to like playing in big venues in NC. I didn't think UNCG would be able to get ACC games in non-tournament years in Greensboro. Good for them.

Would love to see the Tribe play Davidson, but I know it won't happen. The A-10 requires 7 non-conference home games, and Davidson buys games now.
We'll be discussing the merits of moving to another conference soon if we continue to have success winning 20 plus games and recruiting better talent. There will be a tipping point where staying in the CAA for hoops won't make sense financially.

Perhaps we should focus on winning the CAA Tourney and representing the CAA in the Big Dance first before we discuss the merits of moving to another conference. Just saying.
Tribe32 has been hanging around the JMU boards a little too much
I agree we need to kick the door down at the tournament a few times before that discussion takes place, but the JMU comment was a low blow.

The thread on the JMU board entitled "the newest conference rumor" is up to 17,310 posts. I believe they have at least 3 other threads about changing conferences, etc. I wouldn't put 32 in that category as being totally delusional like a good portion of the JMU fan base, but I wouldn't mind the bb programs getting to the point where we do have that discussion.

Thankfully Tony has the program headed in that direction, which I think is 32's point.
