awesome, l want to start seeing equipment out there moving dirt.
Nice!!
That looks great! So is the football building now proposed for fronting 6th Ave S instead of adjacent to Ullman?

I like the design of the covered facility. That looks really well done for not being fully enclosed.
Yes. That was pretty much a unanimous suggestion by all parties involved. Sorry Mark.
Ok....help me here. I'm having a hard time figuring out what cross streets this is. My shop is on 3rd Ave South and 12th St so I'm familiar with the area. What's the cross street and this facing North or South?

Figured it out. That's 6th Ave South and the Opening of the pavilion is facing 12th by the fire station and WABM.
With the Knight commission recommendation today of increasing funding for health and safety of athletes an athletic research facility and clinic would fit nicely with the new building 04-rock

But then that's just me. I know no one has ever thought of that 07-coffee3
You can save some money by not having the rainbow designs on top of the facilities.

If the University of Hawai'i can be the "Rainbow Warriors", perhaps UAB can be the "Rainbow Blazers" - making for an inclusive fan base. LOL

Since you would know, is this design set up so that the facility could be enclosed in the future?
Anything can be enclosed basically so yea. That said it's cheaper to do it now initially but Ingram is adamant that it covered and not enclosed. At least we are getting something. in the beginning we were only getting the FOB. hey, I'm happy the whole complex is being built and it puts us in a good position. We need a stadium announcement quickly before all hell breaks loose in realignment.

Just curious has he ever said what his logic is regarding keeping it open? Don't get me wrong if we build what's been drawn it'll be good for 330+ days a year but on those days you need it you need it.

Kinda surprising that, as AD, he wouldn't push for it and recognize an enclosed facility as a practice facility for not only football but other sports (softball, baseball, soccer, etc) if only for basic stuff. I mean, the early weeks for Spring sports can get pretty cold...
You forget he is the smartest guy in the room so your logic means nothing.
I would assume he wants it open more for saving money vs enclosed & it costing more but wouldn't surprise me that someone behind the scenes is putting those words there as it'll be easier to repurpose something that is nothing more that a tent disposed of cheaply than something w/ brick walls that will cost much in demolition.

With it being open, I wonder how it will stand up to weather elements? Will it cost more to maintain that "tent" vs going ahead & building walls?
3M vs 8M is what Ingram told us. Honestly I can't blame him. Let's go to a bowl game and then close it in.

Ok I can see that logic.
Looks great. I see those football shaped glass towers didn't make the cut...
