What do people think on here after the news stories about the B12 considering expansion?

I think its becoming more likely.

1. Report on the disadvantage of not holding a championship game.
2. Acceptance the LHN is not going away and its time to move on.
3. Timing as expansion could be in place by 2018 in advance of the next bowl cycle.
4. The existence of an expansion committee shows serious intent.
Vote to expand, not to expand in 2016?

An affirmative decision on expansion by the end of 2016.

Note not what schools but just they've agreed to go to 12, 14 or whatever number.

ok
I think it's as obvious as the noses on our faces that they are going to expand to 12, and perhaps to 14. But definitely 12.

Boren has been publicly campaigning for it for 10 or so months now. There have been hundreds of media reports that it is likely. There are a few reports coming out that they will figure out a way to roll in a B12N. They are without doubt going to add a CCG.

Never has there been a longer public drumbeat for expansion in ANY conference. It would be the biggest upset in the history of earth if they sat on their hands. Of course, if anybody can do that, it would be the Big 12, lol. They make the old Big East under Marinatto look speedy.

Actually Boron been for expanding past 10 since Nebraska and Missouri left...
I voted toss-up, but it's starting to look like the Big East of old with in-fighting. I could see little to nothing being done and the conference falling apart or having a huge makeover.

Ha, that's true.
Not this year. Maybe next. Too many things to work out with Texas.
They should add Cincy and one of BYU/Colorado St and be done with it
I think it's unlikely. Expansion IMO doesn't convince Texas or OU to stay in the B12 because adding teams won't bring FOX or ESPN to the table to increase team payout to a level comparable to the B1G or SEC.
With all the talk I think it's likely a decision will come soon.
I'll lower my percentage to 8 %
I have changed my mind and decided that the Big 12 will expand. What I still hold the same view on is the LHN not folding into a conference network for the Big 12.

Cincy is in. Then it will be between BYU and UCONN.

The TV consultants report isn't done yet. That could kill it if it says the candidates hurt in 2025 when the contract is renewed.
I voted 50/50. Because of that 180 day deadline, that raised my % for this year. Before that I was thinking the decision would be made in 2017 and this year was very unlikely.

Of course. But I was told prelim numbers were developed by ESPN months ago, and some B12N decisions were agreed to, pending confirmation of those numbers. Bevilacqua's report is to confirm the preliminary numbers. I would be surprised if they don't support ESPN's original numbers. But with the Big 12, nothing is ever fast. Or certain.
I will still be surprised but it's not 0%. Revenue estimates is the key. If some creative thinking wins out regarding a conference network that will swing the needle toward likely. Increased chances for the playoff is a head fake and won't sway votes one way or the other.

The two "best" additions are probably BYU and Houston. But there are objections to both of them.
