1-0 Rice, mid first
Panthers waste an out bunting lead off runner to 2nd, then two fly outs end the B1. :)
OT: 2-1 favorite Nyquist wins the Kentucky Derby to remain undefeated (8-for-8).

Time was fast -- 2:01.31 -- with the expected quick pace by Danzing Candy.

Exaggerator (5-1 odds at post time) sped in from way back to take 2nd. Gun Runner (10-1) held on to 3rd, an eyelash clear of the fast-closing Mohaymen (12-1) and Suddenbreakingnews (24-1). The rabbit (Danzing Candy/27-1) finished 15th.

Nyquist is the first 8-for-8 undefeated Derby winner since Majestic Prince in 1969.

Jockey Mario Gutierrez is the first undefeated (2-for-2) rider in 118 years.

Back-to-back Triple Crown winners perhaps? Would be appropriate except I don't think Nyquist can handle the distance of the Belmont.
