How much gamesmanship do you think goes on with our singles order? I know we don't have anyone ranked on the men's side but Hansen looked awfully good to be our 4 Sunday. I looked it up and he was a blue-chip recruit. Maybe we drop some of our higher guys down and count on winning the doubles point?

To go along with that, Warren who has played most of the season at #4 and #5, has a dual record of 17-2. Malik, our main #1, has a losing record. Bennett our #2 has basically an even record.
ITA rules prohibit "matching-up" and have rules that basically require a team to play it's best player at the No. 1 position and all others to follow in order of "ability". Variations are allowed due to injury and/or illness.

I believe that after a specified number of dual matches (six, I think), the lineup is deemed to be established and changes in the order must be "explained".

There is an element of ethics involved and it is frowned upon when a coach tries to "stack" a lineup by moving players around to achieve certain match-ups. The ethics of some coaches is questioned from time to time, but generally when an order is established, any variations must be adequately explained.

It's probably an inexact science but most coaches seem to know the rules and more importantly, the intent of the rules.
Two things:

-I think our team has less variance from 1-6 than others... Also, Hansen and Llamas are freshman so perhaps Efe put them lower so they could "adjust."
-I have heard from multiple people that opposing teams struggle at the GRBTC because it takes some time to get used to the way the wind blows across across the parking lot. The team is like 20-1 at home, and 1-6 on the road. In fairness, our road SOS has been tougher, but still.
