Thought this deserved its own thread rather than just being in the Golf thread.
Sathika Ruenreong was selected to participate in the NCAA regionals as an individual. That makes her the first Rocket in history to qualify! She holds pretty much every UT record I think, so this is fitting way to finish her career. Huge congrats to her.
Regionals are May 5-7 at Shoal Creek, AL.

Early start! Looking forward to tracking her progress. Gives me yet another thing to do at the office instead of actual work.
She is currently listed at even after 0 holes played. Sometimes I'm already over par by then.
I was assuming the starting times were Eastern time. Apparently it's Central time.

Finished +3 and tied for 16with about 65 players behind her. Pretty exciting. I'd, asI understand it, the top three individuals advance she is in excellent position.

As I understand it, the top 6 teams go, and then of the players left, the top 3 go as individuals - they could be from the 6 individuals playing or players from the other teams that didn't qualify.
She had a really good round. Better than a huge number of players ranked well ahead of her.

Sathika finished round 2 tied for 25th at +9.
By my count, right now she is tied for 10th place, in terms of making the finals as an individual.
I have not been able to follow since I left work yesterday.
Sathika finished +7 for the day, and +16 for the tourney. Currently tied for 37th, with some players still on the course.
Final results, and Rueneong finished tied for 36th place, out of 96 players.
Her score tied or bettered 10 different players who are ranked in the top 100.

Very respectable performance playing with the elite of collegiate women's golf and in fact it was quite an honor to have even been invited. Still, too bad she was not able to maintain the level of play from her first round or she would had a spectacular tournament.
