I think it's good for southern schools lol.
Maybe university of Miami should have done their scrimmage at oxbridge 80 miles from campus BEFORE the ACC voted to ban satellite camps ROFL!

These were NEVER allowed by the ACC (or SEC).

Cuse has been been doing a week long August camp at Fort Drum (about 80 miles north) the last 4 years
Here is the wording of the NCAA press release:

"The Council approved a proposal applicable to the Football Bowl Subdivision that would require those schools to conduct camps and clinics at their school’s facilities or at facilities regularly used for practice or competition. Additionally, FBS coaches and noncoaching staff members with responsibilities specific to football may be employed only at their school’s camps or clinics. This rule change is effective immediately."

Syracuse using Fort Drum might be covered under "facilities regularly used for practice". The Orange could probably get away with East Rutherford, NJ as well ("facilities regularly used for practice or competition"), although some might question whether Syracuse football has ever been competitive there...

Watch the USC game, my red and yellow-deficient pal.
What counts as a "facility regularly used for practice"?

you sound a tad jealous, owl ...
when fans attend just your average UM scrimmage far away from natural habitat ...
far more than would attend an average f-a-u-don't-give-a-hoot game in the same county ...
yeah, it's understandable ...

The rule seems specifically related to "camps." I don't think a scrimmage would count as a camp.

What would stop a school from buying property in Florida? That would be "their facility" and part of "their campus" (50 mile clause).

If that loophole exists I look for Jim Harbaugh to jump through it.

Considering the millions schools spend on frivolous amenities for athletics, buying property would be a relatively cheap option.

Im not jealous...after all we do play our games at an ON CAMPUS STADIUM.
When's Miami gonna have its own ON CAMPUS STADIUM? Miami playing at sunlife
is like when FAU had to play at Lockhart before we got our own ON CAMPUS STADIUM.

f-a-u-don't-give-a-hoot literally draws flies ...
exaggerates crowd size to appear larger & meet D1 requirements ...
but for strong-arming an unsuspecting student body thru obscene activity fees ...
their unwanted athletic program would die a lonely death ...

New Miami Stadium sits smack dab in the middle of 3 populous counties ...
with undergrad enrollment around 10,000 ...
small private U must rely on something greater than itself ...
