No more UAB camps in Mobile or Huntsville.
It'll be interesting to see how Clark spins this with the NCAA. Our "on campus or regular facilities " will be under construction starting this summer into next summer.

Satellite camp rule seems like a raw deal for schools like UAB and Troy, etc, who apparently now can't have camps in Huntsville or Mobile

William Nichols‏@coachwn
@DrewChamplin it also affects the kids who now have to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars in either travel costs or time for parents.

no doubt. Prospect from Opelika hoping to earn a UAB offer in camp has to make the drive to Birmingham to do it now

Legion Field is our regular football facility.

Unless there has been a new lease signed we do not have a regular football facility. The previous lease was not renewed after the 2014 season and we haven't played a game there in 18 months. It may be splitting hairs but at this point there's no harm in asking

Why would the Mwc and sun belt be in favor of this? This does nothing but hurt the student athletes once again. These other conferences need to band together and stop giving the sec more and more power.
SEC! SEC! SEC! What a bunch of ass clowns

The SunBelt is the most regional of the G5 conferences. Their recruiting areas are within about a 3 hr drive from their campuses(or within the state). Their recruiting budgets are probably pretty small compared to others. Most feel they can get the players the SEC misses on and satellite camps hurt them the most since most are directly in their "territory". I don' think most of them have their own or attend others camps either(I do know the GaState coach disagreed with the decision, though).

The MWC probably feels the same as the SB except in regards to the Pac12. Boise St does remote camps, a fact not lost on others in the MWC.
Would've been nice to at least allow either an in-state exemption or allow camps within 150 miles of your campus. As we know, the real reason for the ban is Saban's butthurt over Harbaugh coming in and racking up.

Racking up how? To date, the only prospects from the state of Alabama Harbaugh has actually signed have been 3 3-star players from Prattville High (one of the only AL high schools seemingly willing to entertain his nonsense), most of whom had no SEC offers, much less interest from Alabama.

They did, however, have UAB offers. Harbaugh has been targeting recruits that would have been solid UAB prospects but for his desire to take less quality recruits from Alabama and the South in an attempt to claim recruiting victories.

Harbaugh is an absolute blowhard and has no respect for the college game, and I'm not talking about just satellite camps. His actions have hurt schools like us who actually need satellite camps. I think the ban will ultimately help UAB because 3 star level in-state prospects will no longer have the opportunity to be swiped up by Big 10 coaches wishing to troll the SEC.
At the end of the day, it's messed up for the kids. The schools and big time stars are going to alright regardless, but it's about the kind of kid that would probably make the most of the opportunity.
The power conferences are the big winners again and the No. G5 is the losers. Even the belt. They are stupid. Biggest losers are the kids.

Meanwhile it's the Wild Wild West in cheating and problem truth their heads unless you are a non power large that gets caught.

No issue for UAB. LF is still primary home.

My guy says no problem.

Harbaugh is doing his job, and he is pretty damn good at it. We are indirectly a casualty of his actions, but I'm good with him going to battle with the SEC. The satellite camps should have been limited, not eliminated altogether. The NCAA really screwed the pooch here, and a lot of that had to do with the whining of the SEC. The Sun Belt is too stupid to understand what they voted for I suppose. Troy can now only have camps in the middle of nowhere. Enjoy getting players out to those.
Troy has that barbecue joint with the scantily dressed pig waving with the come-hither motion to draw people in. That should suffice
Country's closed. There is now literally no reason at all to be in Pike County if UAB isn't taking a team there.
