C-USA, SWAC, Sun Belt, Southland plus the conferences in D3 and NAIA at the lower levels that have athletics.

La. Tech, La.-Monroe, Tulane (Private schools do get state funded as well) , New Orleans, La.-Lafayette, Southern U., Grambling State, McNeese State, LSU-Shreveport, Southern U.-New Orleans, Southern U.-Alexandria, NW. La. State, SE Louisiana, Nicholls State and so forth.
If you threw a best case scenario in the 375-mile zone:

Louisiana-Monroe
Tulane
Louisiana Tech
Southern Miss
South Alabama

Houston
Rice
Texas A&M
Baylor
Louisiana

Conference football championship at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

I'm not sure if they make the cut, but Texas Mississippi State, and Alabama appear to be borderline. If it was extended another 25 miles are so you would pick up SMU and possibly Ole Miss as well. But would Gulfstar 2.0 be a power conference?

Arkansas Tech is in the part of Arkansas that is outside the circle. How much will this affect the Wonder Boys' schedule?

They'll be in the SEC soon anyway

Not gonna happen....more of the Louisiana Banana Republic follies......
I thought it excluded LSU from the restrictions?

Seemed ridiculous on that basis alone

It apparently forbids schools whose athletic departments rely on state money. LSU doesn't. (Pretty sure private Tulane doesn't either.)

LOL, like the Texas part of the conference wants to be involved in that. Texas A&M? 03-lmfao They'd be more likely to go independent and toss a few Louisiana programs a bone.

Only 3 schools that Arkansas Tech is within the boundary.

NW. Louisiana State, Grambling State and La. Tech

The rest falls outside.

Arkansas Tech almost beat NW Louisiana State in football 'bout 10 years ago. Tech and Central Arkansas were rivals for a long time. Adding them to the Southland now would bring the rivalry back, and could cause excitement to both programs again. We were supposed to have gone with UCA when they moved up. Everybody, but our school's President was in favor, and he killed the idea.
This could affect the Pelicans most of all. How can NBA players be successful if they aren't allowed to travel?
And most NBA players know a thing or two about travelling to be successful. Just look at Patrick Ewing in his prime or Shaqtin'-A-Fool.
