If we wanted to see another bad football team in Nashville we would take in a Vandy scrimmage.
Is it normal for high schools to play scrimmages at rival schools half way across the state in Tennessee? Honest question.

When i waa in high school in TN we scrimmaged galllatin and Germantown, both a few hours away.

Never heard of a college doing it. Im sure its happened. Memphis had to practice at private college due to our fields being crappy and waterlogged, a problem thats been fixed.

Just messing with you guys...nobody have an anurisim

Oh, well it wasn't really an honest question. I was making a tiger high jab.

edit: I thought tiger high would show up all ************ like it was a curse. Has that changed?

Guess its ok. We prefer tigah high
You had me at "fixins"
I will say this. Father Ryan has a beautiful football stadium with some of the best synthetic turf in the country.
All I gotta say--Memphis has recently scheduled home and home series with South Alabama, Georgia State, Louisiana-Monroe, UTSA, UNT, and Arkansas State.

I don't really mind ASU since it's an hour away school, but would rather have scheduled UAB or USM or MTSU than the rest of that bunch. MTSU certainly makes more sense than ULM, UTSA, UNT, or the Sunbelt schools.

Forgot to mention that Memphis has also scheduled Mercer Univ. of all schools.

Are any Ole Miss games scheduled? Beating them is a fast way to get off their schedule.

If they are trying to recruit that area yes. I cant remember if it was Monken or Fedora but I know southern miss has been to Madison central in Jackson, the University of South Pinola and I think biloxi high in the past.

I kinda preferred UAB over Memphis (closer game) but thems the breaks. I think for a lot of G5 programs the scheduling idea is becoming "Why am I not playing other G5s withing a 5 or 6 hour drive? Makes sense.
As both an MT and Father Ryan alum, this really hurts... Not really, it's actually kinda cool. Good move by Memphis. It's a really nice stadium and anyone passing on I-65 will see what's going on. I'll bet some of those travelers will go home and see who was there playing
yeah, I hear Father Ryan has a nice set-up, might have to check it out.

Memphis camped at Father Ryan last summer IIRC. Here's the graphic the athletic dept. sent out advertising the practice game.

we still could...USM and UAB appeal to me...you could swap MTSU and USM, they both have openings to fit into those spots

2019
Aug. 31 vs. Ole Miss
Sept. 14 at South Alabama
Sept. 28 at Louisiana-Monroe
Oct. 5 vs. UAB ???

2020
Sept. 5 vs. Arkansas State
Sept. 12 at UAB???
Sept. 26 vs. Texas-San Antonio

2022
09/03 - Arkansas State
09/17 - North Texas
09/24 - at Mississippi State
10/01 - at Southern Miss ???

2023
09/09 - at Arkansas State
09/16 - at North Texas
09/23 - Missouri
10/07 - Southern Miss ???

ASU, UAB, USM, Ole Miss, and Miss State...that works for me...someone email this to Bowen/Rudd...and 4 of our next 5 seasons would/could have 7 home games.

According to that map you're scrimmaging somewhere between Cross Plains and Portland.
I'm surprised MTSU hasn't done this at CBHS in East Memphis...the Germantown/Cordova/East Memphis alumni crowd must be ripe for donations...

The CBHS setup and facility looks very similar to that of Father Ryan's.
