Since this week's midweek games are done it's time to look forward to Friday:

La Tech (3-3) at Marshall (3-3)
USM (5-1) at Charlotte (3-3)
FAU (5-1) at ODU (3-3)
FIU (2-4) at UTSA (1-5)
Rice (5-1) at MT (1-5)
WKU (3-3) at UAB (2-4)
I'm just hoping Tech can qualify for the tournament this season
RPIs will change some before Friday's games but here's where they stand after as of now:

La Tech (118) at Marshall (91)
USM (15) at Charlotte (202)
FAU (55) at ODU (25)
FIU (167) at UTSA (92)
Rice (16) at MT (95)
WKU (61) at UAB (162)
It's Bark at the Park day in Charlotte Saturday. Shadow is eagerly anticipating seeing a Niners victory over Southern Miss 03-wink
Charlotte guys - what's your team like this year? I know you guys had a good stretch in the late 2000s.
The weather forecast is not too promising today as that line of storms moves east. I'm guessing todays ODU vs. FAU game will be moved to a d/h on Sat. Nothing official yet though.

Inconsistent. Our Friday starter (Geoghegan) and Sunday starter (Maciejewski) have been solid. Geoghegan rarely gets the run support he needs on Friday. The rest of the staff? who knows? We've got two guys that do ok out of the pen, but that's about it.

The offense is improved over the past two seasons, but the bats still have a habit of going silent at the most inopportune times.

The defense is also improved over previous years, but we still find too many ways to allow unearned runs.

Coach Hibbs has been critical of our effort at times this season. Tuesday vs. NC State is a great example. Honestly, if we find a way to take one this weekend, I'd be ok with that.

"Glancing" over the stats here's a few things that stick out to me about Charlotte:

As a team Charlotte has hit 10 HR with one player hitting 4 (SHERER) while 6 others have 1 each.

Charlotte's starting 9 hitters appear to play ALL THE TIME. Only 3 players besides the starting 9 have an AB and those are 15, 14 and 7 AB each respectively

2 players (Hampton and Gallello) have combined to steal 14 of 17 bases while the remaining 7 are combined 5 for 6.

5 players are batting over .300, 2 are in the .200-.299 range, while the other 2 are in the .100-.200 range

Pitching wise, starter Geoghegan and relievers Perry and Capps have been strong. Geoghegan's record is 1-3 but his ERA is 2.61 so it appears to be more of "tough luck" thing than bad performance. Perry and Capps have combined for 41 innings with 24 appearances and ERAs of 1.50 and 1.54 while Perry leads the team 2 of their 3 saves.
