While this is pure speculation from a few sources.. What are UAB fans thoughts about a few candidates I'm hearing might be in the mix. I want your reaction to these candidates.

How do UAB fans feel about Philip Pearson. Former Bana player & 10 year assistant. Also a short term
Interim at Bama. Now assistant at UGA and was interviewed by Samford before being passed over a few years back.

Also hearing former Arkansas & South Alabama head coach john Pelphrey as a candidate. What are UAB fans feelings on this Billy Donovan protege?

Also hearing that Birmingham native & lead Arkansas recruiter TJ Cleveland has not been contacted by UAB, this despite his interest in the job. Does he not deserve an interview?

And what about former South Carolina coach Darrin Horn??
All of those would be dissapointing.

Yep...
I'd rather have the long time xavier, miami, or unc assistant than any of those guys. Can't think of their names right now.
None of those names excite me.
I think TJ deserves an interview. Horn was successful at WKU and Siuth Carolina can be a tough gig. The other two scare me senseless. Pearson may have BOT support though...
Yeah, none of those guys excite me.

Horn is especially the kind of candidate that I'd like to avoid. A SEC retread that underwhelmed when met by tougher competition, and faded as the poor seasons started to stack. Nothing against him personally or anything. I think playing with more tempo would be cool actually, but him being on the short list wouldn't inspire much confidence in me.
Pearson = Callaway with better diction and smaller gut.
Let's just give it to Heath Burns at Cordova. We could probably get him for $100k and he's been a winner everywhere he's been.
When did Burdette go?

We agree on something.
TJ Cleveland above all those other guys. Heck, I'd put me or Attalla ahead of those other guys.
If he is not hiring Rob I would give TJ an interview. The other names make me want to pour vinegar in my eye sockets.
I wouldn't. I've never coached basketball past JH level.... ;-)
Is there another ex-NBA coach that would be interested ? I had no idea Mike Dunleavy Sr. would be interested in the Tulane job. He will make them a winner.
Most of the time ex-NBA coaches get your program put on probation.
Have any of those guys or any others we might be considering had even a sniff from any other program? Probably a reason for that...
(nope)
He would say no, but if I was Mark Ingram I contact Mark Jackson and make him say no.
