Haase doesn't owe UAB anything. And it's not fair to do it as long as the current roster is still playing here.
Nor would I want him to come back & then use it for a recruiting tool.

I don't think there's very high risk of that.
Well, he has already offered 1 in state prospect for 2018.
i hope he signs a home and home...but dont expect him to, and he shouldnt be judged on whether or not he does.
i could see him saying "hey, i'll bring my team back IF you hire the guy i recommended"--maybe

I knew you'd be first to comment. Of course he doesn't owe us anything. Nor did Roy Wiliams owe him a game at Bartow. The thought is to buck the trend. Not forget the mid major. I guarantee you the current players would relish the chance to play Stanford. I'll always love Haase. He has consistently said he wants to be remembered for being a good guy and building a lasting program. If he plays UAB at Bartow he'd be adding to both of those legacys. Plus if it was Bartow Classic it would add to the legacy he's had about cancer research/awareness. Not just his honorable actions in last years Bartow Classic but also the adoption of the young man with pediatric cancer and the mud match shoe deal to raise awareness. So there is real reason for him to possibly make this happen. There's some president as well. Bruce Pearl scheduled UW-Milwaukee at UT and Auburn.
The distance is too far for it to be feasible anyway.
I'm actually in disagreement.

Haase doesn't owe UAB anything at all. I'm on board with having a friendly chance at a game against Stanford in the future, but I feel like it'd be unfair to all parties involved if it was scheduled within the next few years. Any other way then it's just a powder keg of emotion. The good intentions wouldn't matter when the narrative would change overnight.
Let's not dwell on the Haase.

But wherever they go, and whatever happens to them on the way, in that enchanted place on the top of the Forest, a little boy and his Bear will always be playing.
Was told by a reliable person that if Rob got the job a H&H would most likely happen. Also told if TJ got the job a H&H would happen without a doubt and would likely be more than two games.

He doesn't owe UAB but he will do it because it if Rob gets it

Good read.
Just read on Twitter where Beard (Little Rock) has a required home and home when he moves on in his contract.

Glad you got the pint in of the article, not owed but a chance to be different.

I have heard of several teams doing that. We 100% need to as well.
The headline sets the tone that Haase somehow needs to prove how much he cared about UAB. And so does this.

Quote:I can believe all of that, but I want to see physical proof from Coach Haase.

That's what I disagree with mostly. If the players, our new coach, and Haase are all okay with it...that would be fine by me. I just don't think Haase needs to do anything and we'll be fine without it.

Learning that they are putting required home-and-home scheduling into contracts is interesting though. Wonder how that would hold up in court if the school argues they can't accommodate it.
Would it mean we would have to play Texas Southern?

Bet your butts UNLV won't agree and will force Little Rock to contest. That game won't happen.

That's another interesting angle to it. We got ourselves OUT of a game against Texas Southern that was already on the books, just so we didn't have to play against an ex-coach.

I don't think that contract stuff will hold up.
That was different. We let Mike Davis go.
Those home and home requirements are ridiculous. They don't take the feelings of the players into account. Most players are upset when a coach leaves and don't want to see him on an opposing bench. The coach has an advantage in that he knows eveyrthing about how those players play.
